Job summary

The Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is seeking an Environmental Specialist Senior to serve as an SRF Leadworker. You will direct the daily work of technical staff and act as the primary technical contact for SRF requirements, coordinating IUP/PPL tracking and program reporting.

You will mentor staff, manage databases and dashboards, support contracts and invoicing, and engage with local communities and regulatory partners to advance Clean Water and Drinking Water projects.

Qualifications

• Leadworker experience directing staff and guiding technical work.
• Knowledge of State Revolving Fund programs (Clean Water & Drinking Water).
• Ability to draft administrative rules, policy white papers, and program reports.

Responsibilities

• Direct the daily work of two or more employees as SRF Leadworker.
• Serve as primary technical contact for SRF regulatory requirements.
• Manage IUP and PPL tracking and SOP updates.
• Maintain SRF database integrity and prepare reporting packages (Annual Program Report, EPA submissions, dashboards).
• Provide contract administration support and assist with vendor claims and invoices.
• Research federal/state regulations and draft policy recommendations.
• Deliver staff training and engage regional partners and stakeholders.
• Build partnerships with state/federal agencies, communities and private sector.
