Job summary

Goldman Sachs is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to own reliability outcomes for critical trading services, defining SLOs and incident response. You will reduce toil, automate detection, and coordinate cross-functional responders in a cloud-first, AI-enabled environment.

You will design high-availability, multi-region services, leverage AI agents across the SDLC, and work with GCP/AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, and Kafka to maintain production readiness.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software / reliability engineering experience.
• Java 17+ preferred, with concurrency and modern language features.
• Strong risk acumen in a regulated financial services environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination across distributed teams.
• Proven experience running high-availability production environments with SLIs/SLOs and incident reviews.
• Cloud infrastructure knowledge (GCP, AWS) and infrastructure-as-code tooling.

Responsibilities

• Own reliability outcomes: define and defend SLOs and reliability standards for critical trading services.
• Reduce risk and toil by automating repetitive operational work and strengthening resilience.
• Coordinate incidents across globally distributed teams and communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Develop event-driven architectures and data pipelines for high-throughput trade lifecycle systems.
• Apply AI tooling to automation, root-cause analysis, and production-quality improvements.
• Design and operate multi-region, cloud-native services with strong security and observability.
