Job summary

Salesforce, Inc. is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer based in Herndon, VA, onsite. You will join the SRE team responsible for keeping Salesforce cloud services available around the clock and guiding resilience initiatives.

The role requires TS/SCI with Polygraph, U.S. citizenship, and the ability to complete a Moderate Public Trust background. You’ll work with AWS infrastructure and automate key reliability tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Monitor customer-facing services and respond to Severity 0 and 1 incidents, leading technical reviews and contributing to root cause analyses.
• Automate detection and resolution of recurring production issues to reduce repetitive manual work.
• Contribute to compliance, resiliency, and self-healing initiatives, including destructive testing and resiliency drills.

The Experience

Join our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team, where you work alongside Infrastructure and Research and Development partners to keep Salesforce cloud services available for customers around the clock. With Agentforce woven into every layer of our platform, you help build resilient systems that millions of customers depend on every day.

This role is based in Herndon, VA and is eligible for an onsite work arrangement.

Candidates must have an active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance.

This candidate must be a U.S. citizen (U.S. born or naturalized) who does not hold dual citizenship and agrees to complete a U.S. federal government Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) for a Moderate Public Trust position. This position requires a USA TS/SCI with Polygraph security access level.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

• Monitor customer-facing services and respond to Severity 0 and Severity 1 incidents, leading technical reviews and contributing to root cause analyses.
• Automate the detection and resolution of recurring production issues to reduce repetitive manual work.
• Contribute to compliance, resiliency, and self-healing initiatives, including destructive testing and resiliency drills.
• Partner with and mentor teammates to stay current on industry technology and drive team development.

You're Our Person If...

• You have experience in enterprise-scale internet service engineering or support, with hands-on experience using the command line on Unix variants, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• You have experience with Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) networking technologies and protocols.
• You have experience with incident management in a 24/7 environment.
• You write scripts in Python, Go, or similar languages and have experience provisioning and operating Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure.

Even Better If...

• You have a solid understanding of IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) service operations.
• You have experience with configuration management tools such as Chef or Puppet, and pipeline tools such as Jenkins, Bamboo, or Spinnaker.
• You hold certifications in Linux+, Red Hat, or AWS.
• You are familiar with Agile processes and DevOps practices.
