Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an Site Reliability Engineer to join our team in Columbus, OH. You will build software and services that support deployment, operation, and maintenance of our products, while improving release, monitoring, and reliability across systems.

You will apply Go and AWS expertise to cloud infrastructure, production systems, and backend services, with a focus on problem-solving and collaboration in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Foundation in software engineering and experience with at least one programming language.
• Interest in learning new software, systems, and technologies, including Go.
• Interest in the broader software lifecycle, including building, deploying, operating, and maintaining applications.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Experience beyond coursework, such as building or deploying an application, an internship, a hackathon, or a side project, is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Join the Site Reliability Engineering team and contribute to real team workflow.
• Build software and services supporting deployment, operation, and maintenance of products.
• Improve release, operation, monitoring, and maintenance processes.
• Connect software development with cloud services, production systems, and reliability.
• Apply programming skills to systems and infrastructure challenges.
• Investigate issues and improve system reliability over time.
• Take ownership of well-scoped work and communicate progress.
