Job summary

Google is seeking a Software Engineering Manager II in Site Reliability Engineering to lead a team responsible for uptime and performance across Google's services. You will mentor engineers, own end-to-end availability, and drive automation and scalable solutions on a global stage.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in CS, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages.
3 years of experience managing people or teams, leading projects, and designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting distributed systems.
Preference for a Master's degree and people management experience.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of engineers on projects for Google services and be responsible for uptime.
Own end-to-end availability and performance and build automation to prevent recurrence.
Mentor the team and establish credibility through technical execution.
Manage on-call rotations across continents with a follow-the-sun model.
Design, write and deliver software to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency.
