Job summary

Community Impact Foundation is hiring a Site Reliability Engineer in Brooklyn Park, MN. The role focuses on keeping Elasticsearch fast and reliable, balancing rigorous execution with practical delivery.

You’ll own the Jenkins subsystem, optimize performance, and set ECS coding standards for the engineering team. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years in SRE, experience with Elasticsearch, Jenkins, Nginx, ECS, and a strong ability to communicate tradeoffs to executives.

Qualifications

• 3 years of Site Reliability Engineering or similar experience.
• Experience with Jenkins, Nginx and ECS.
• Ability to thrive in a quiet Slack-driven, autonomous environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the Jenkins subsystem central to the team’s reliability.
• Prototype proof-of-concept solutions for emerging tech needs.
• Optimize performance, latency, and resource use at scale.
• Set coding standards for Amazon ECS within the team.
• Coordinate environment configurations to mirror production in Brooklyn Park.
• Explain CKA tradeoffs to executives in clear language.
• Keep Jenkins services stable during peak traffic in Brooklyn Park.
• Translate napkin ideas into testable prototypes for analysis.
