Job summary

Picogrid, a defense technology company in El Segundo, CA, seeks a Site Reliability Engineer to own production reliability across cloud and edge. You will shape the observability stack, incident response, and infrastructure as code, ensuring robust operation for warfighters in challenging environments.

You will collaborate with engineers to build scalable systems, manage on-call processes, and drive automated hardening and signal-rich monitoring.

Qualifications

3+ years of experience as an SRE or related role.
Kubernetes operations experience including node lifecycle and StatefulSets.
Observability dashboards design and high signal-to-noise ratio alerting.
Incident response with blameless postmortems.
Terraform or OpenTofu experience.
AWS including IAM, networking, multi-account environments.
Experience with high availability databases.
IoT or edge fleet operations.
Comfortable in scrappy, fast-paced environments and turning ambiguity into concrete solutions.
Value-driven, short iteration cycles.

Responsibilities

Own, define and drive reliability SLIs and SLOs for cloud deployments.
Own, define and drive reliability SLIs and SLOs for edge devices deployed in remote areas.
Own the observability stack: Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, and OpenTelemetry with dashboards in git.
Participate in on-call and incident response with blameless postmortems.
Encode reliability into infrastructure as code.
