Job summary

Virtusa is seeking a Senior Network Test Engineer in Sunnyvale to lead testing of carrier-grade networking equipment. You will design comprehensive test plans, set up multi-vendor labs, and validate performance, scalability, and reliability of service provider solutions.

The role requires 7+ years in telecom equipment testing, expertise in L2/L3 protocols, and experience with Ixia/Keysight and OTDR. Strong problem solving and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in Carrier-grade telecom equipment testing and qualification including router and switches.
• Proven experience with wireless technologies, focusing on mmWave and E-band point-to-point technologies.
• Solid understanding of key radio frequency performance indicators including SNR, BER, and RSL.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of L2/L3 protocols: Ethernet, VLANs, IP, MPLS, BGP, QoS.
• Demonstrated ability to set up, configure, and troubleshoot complex, large-scale network environments across multi-vendor platforms.
• Hands-on experience with traffic generators and analyzers (Ixia/Keysight, OTDR).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced environments.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• PON testing experience highly desirable
