Job description

GPJ is hiring a Sr Warehouse Manager to join our growing team.

This role is on-site, requiring you to report to our Las Vegas office location a minimum of 5 days per week.

Your Role

As the Senior Warehouse Manager, your role revolves around the day-to-day operation of our GPJ facility warehouse. You are the one responsible for scheduling and overseeing our warehouse staff in all their assigned tasks. You will handle staffing decisions for the warehouse and forecast our labor needs based on project workloads.

Your duties involve leading, staffing, and training your team. You will set the necessary working hours for our warehouse staff to meet the workload demands. Additionally, you are in charge of managing the warehouse layout and storage requirements, optimizing our limited space with efficient racking solutions and stacking of crates.

You will take on the crucial responsibility of managing job timelines and deadlines. This means identifying potential challenges in upcoming production tasks, ensuring we have the right materials on hand, and setting realistic goals for your team. You will also maintain clear communication with all relevant stakeholders, both upstream and downstream, regarding our department's workload and any necessary changes. To facilitate this, you will manage, maintain, and update an internal workload schedule that can be easily shared with other members of our production team.

Furthermore, you will serve as an expert in warehousing, offering suggestions and expertise to ensure we meet our client's expectations.

Your role also encompasses various other responsibilities, such as tracking departmental time and managing PTO requests, organizing and maintaining files, providing training, continually seeking opportunities for skill improvement, and handling any additional tasks assigned by Fabrication Leadership.

Your Skills

  • Efficiently assigning warehouse tasks.
  • Fostering clear communication between departments to establish best practices and address recurring issues.
  • Collaborating with purchasing for stock management.
  • Ensuring accurate time tracking and budget adherence.
  • General competency in Google docs, sheets and slides
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with Smartsheet or other Project Management/productivity software.
  • Thriving in a deadline-driven, high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. without assistance.
Solution Oriented: Fabrication

Even with tight project budget management practices, you focus on the desired outcome and are ready with multiple solutions in order to reach the end goal.

Thoroughness: Fabrication

Ensure your work (and if applicable, the work of others) is complete and accurate. When details are ambiguous, you ask questions to confirm you understand the expectations. Team members can easily follow your work, understand where you left off, and what comes next. You are prepared and organized for meetings and presentations.

Urgency

Decisive, responsive, and fast acting you achieve goals quickly both when working on your own and in collaboration with others. You demonstrate adaptability and agility when making on-the-spot decisions never sacrificing quality or work interactions. Cool under pressure. For the sake of time, you are able to eliminate unnecessary steps and use network resources to aid in project completion.

Experience & Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or a minimum of (10) years of industry related experience.
  • Significant experience or knowledge of the exhibit industry, specifically regarding warehouse setup, staffing and management.
