Job summary

UAN Allied World National Assurance Company is seeking a Sr. Underwriter to grow a General Casualty portfolio while applying underwriting discipline and servicing retailers across the region.

This role supports offices in New York, New Jersey, Atlanta, and Chicago, with a focus on market development and collaboration with the Legal team. The successful candidate will have 5–7 years in General Casualty underwriting, strong communication and organizational skills, and be proficient in MS Office.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills for internal and external clients.
• Ability to work independently in a fast paced, high pressure environment.
• 5-7 years experience in General Casualty underwriting.
• Proficient in microsoft applications including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Excellent organizational skills, and ability to multi task.
• CPCU designation, or partial, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform account analysis according to Allied World (US) General Casualty guidelines.
• Develop account pricing/ structure/ make recommendations.
• Perform and document referrals.
• Prepare quotes, binders, invoices, underwriting worksheets within company guidelines.
• Maintain files in an orderly manner consistent with company guidelines.
• Delegate and supervise work to Account Coordinators as needed.
• Attend Client meetings, lunches, dinners, and other social outings as applicable.
• Attend educational seminars.
• Market to retailers within region and engage production meetings.
• Work with Legal department for manuscript wording analysis and preparation.

Job Objectives:

The salary range for this role is between:

$120,000 - $160,000

The below annualized base pay range is a broad range based on analysis of similarpositions in the market. The actual base pay for the position may be above or below the listed range and determined by a number of considerations, including but not limited to complexity, location, and scope of the role, along with experience, skills, education, training,and other conditions of employment. Base salary represents one component of Allied World's comprehensive total reward package, which may also include annual incentive compensation rewards.
