Responsibilities
- Analyze E&S Product Liability submissions from broker partners to determine eligibility within Core E&S Product Liability appetite.
- Determine appropriate limits, attachment points, pricing and terms that provide adequate underwriting profit.
- Execute Primary GL business plans and objectives, building Core Specialty’s reputation in the small‑to‑medium Products Liability market.
- Provide prompt and accurate customer service on policy transactions.
- Ensure all risks considered and bound are within delegated authority, underwriting standards, risk selection, peer review and pricing methodologies.
- Document evidence of underwriting activities and decisions in files as required.
- Support company and department goals, building relationships with broker partners.
- Carry out duties within internal policies, procedures, applicable law, rules, regulation, good governance and Core Specialty’s shared values.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Risk Management & Insurance or equivalent work experience) and a minimum of 4+years of Commercial Insurance Underwriting experience.
- Knowledge of the Products Liability market, GL Construction, Real Estate, Service Providers, underwriting practices, coverage, and pricing/rating methodologies.
- Understanding of policy wordings, clauses, pricing/underwriting tools, insurer operations and competitive marketplace.
- Accrued or pursuing an industry designation such as CPCU, CRM, ARM or CIC.
- Ability to travel monthly to meet assigned brokers.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
