Piper Companies is seeking a Sr. UC Network Engineer to join a DoD-focused team delivering advanced network, data center, and collaboration solutions. The role requires an active Secret Clearance and a hybrid environment with four days onsite at Scott Air Force Base, IL.

The engineer will lead complex customer engagements, design and implement secure networking and UC technologies, and support Linux/Windows server environments while driving modernization initiatives and automation efforts.

Qualifications

• Active Secret Clearance is a must and DoD experience is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited program.
• 8+ years of network engineering, systems engineering, or enterprise technology support experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead customer delivery engagements for large-scale network and collaboration solutions.
• Design, implement, integrate, and optimize enterprise networking, data center, security, and UC technologies.
• Directly support Linux and Windows Server environments used by enterprise applications and monitoring platforms.
• Provide architecture guidance and modernization recommendations to DoD leadership.
• Develop automation and orchestration solutions using APIs, scripting, and CI/CD tools.
• Lead troubleshooting for complex routing, switching, security, and data center challenges.
• Contribute to crisis management and risk mitigation planning.

Piper Companies is seeking a Sr. UC Network Engineer to join a team supporting mission-critical network, infrastructure, and collaboration environments within the Department of Defense. This role is responsible for delivering advanced engineering services, leading complex network and collaboration initiatives, and serving as a trusted technical advisor for enterprise technology modernization efforts. This is a long-term opportunity requiring an active Secret Clearance within a hybrid environment located at Scott Air Force Base, IL (4 days onsite per week).

Responsibilities

• Lead customer delivery engagements and provide escalation support for large-scale infrastructure, network, and collaboration solutions.
• Design, implement, integrate, optimize, and support enterprise networking, security, data center, virtualization, and collaboration technologies.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex routing, switching, security, data center, and unified communications environments.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to customer leadership by providing technical guidance, architecture recommendations, and strategic modernization planning.
• Design and implement firewall policies, high-availability configurations, and secure connectivity solutions supporting voice, video, messaging, and enterprise applications.
• Support hyper-converged and virtualized infrastructure environments hosting critical business and collaboration services.
• Support Linux and Windows Server environments that provide services for enterprise applications, monitoring platforms, and infrastructure management tools.
• Participate in crisis management activities, proactively identifying and mitigating risks that could impact operations or service delivery.

Qualifications

• Active Secret Clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in network engineering, systems engineering, infrastructure consulting, or enterprise technology support environments.
• Expert-level networking knowledge with advanced certifications preferred.
• Extensive experience with enterprise routing, switching, security, and data center technologies.
• Experience developing automation and orchestration solutions using APIs, scripting, and infrastructure automation tools.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, version control systems, and CI/CD methodologies.
• Experience administering and supporting Linux and Windows Server environments.
• Strong background working with voice protocols, PSTN connectivity, and enterprise collaboration deployments.

Compensation

• Salary Range: $140,000 - $160,000/year
