Project Management
- Responsible for the management of transportation design projects for FDOT, the Central Florida Expressway Authority, Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise, counties, and municipalities.
- Direct and/or develop project design documentation, including typical section packages, pavement design reports, design exceptions and variations, and specifications.
- Prepare engineering calculations, quantities, and cost estimates.
- Manage and maintain project documentation, including monitoring project schedules, budgets, and scope.
- Implement quality assurance and quality control procedures.
- Coordinate with project staff, other disciplines, and sub‑consultants, and reviewers to ensure accuracy and quality of work.
- Resource planning of team members to deliver projects on time and on budget.
Business Development and Marketing
- Marketing and business development, including meeting with clients, developing design concepts, providing content for proposals, and preparing presentations.
- Responsible for client development and fostering relationships with existing and new clients.
- Lead and/or assist in preparation of scope of services and fee proposal.
- Attend industry forums and conferences to promote Lochner and our transportation practice.
Staff Management
- Establish, manage, and grow an office in Central Florida.
- Manage utilization of staff in performing tasks efficiently and providing high-quality service.
- Responsible for hiring, supervision, development, and evaluation of engineering support staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
- 8+ years of experience, of which 3+ should have been spent managing projects. Experience managing FDOT projects is preferred.
- Professional Engineer license in Florida.
- Must have business development and marketing experience in Florida.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Self‑motivated and can work independently, but also enjoy working in a team environment.
- Familiarity with the FDOT Design Manual (FDM), FDOT Standard Plans, and other roadway/highway design standards.
- Proficient with OpenRoads Designer and FDOT Connect.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office software, including Word and Excel.
