The Opportunity
- The Quality Team Lead will assist with developing, implementing, and managing the effective use of the quality management system. Execute provided direction to the third shift quality associates, demonstrate active leadership, work on assigned tasks and projects as assigned. Ensure the success of new business by supporting the quality management system.
- Provide feedback to upper management and input for third shift annual appraisals.
- Participate and lead internal audits and provide written summary reports on findings.
- Make decisions on quality problems related to product, process, and procedures.
- Support the Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) system by submitting and resolving issues, responding to customer complaints, and evaluating rejected materials.
- Involve actively in projects using Lean / Six Sigma tools related to quality, customer satisfaction, and key objectives.
- Assist in compiling monthly quality performance metrics, trends, and reports.
- Have knowledge of Quality roles and assist or backfill as needed.
- Conduct training sessions and develop skill sets for associates.
- Support supplier qualifications as assigned.
- Manage product trials, raw material evaluations, tests, data gathering, and technical report writing, helping develop work instructions, test methods, and procedures.
What You Need To Succeed
- Ability to work in a demanding, time-pressured environment with tight deadlines.
- Working knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma principles.
- Experience with ISO9001:2000, cGMP, food safety, and HACCP.
- Experience with internal audits, batch record review, lab testing, AQL sampling/inspection methods, SPC, specifications, and CAPA.
- Strong written, verbal, and electronic communication skills, including training, data analysis, and report writing.
- Good computer skills with MS Office, MiniTab, understanding of Infinity IQS, and sharing technology with others.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks in a high-energy environment while maintaining focus on objectives.
- Leadership skills to direct and lead QA associates, interact effectively with peers and supervision, and manage shift handoffs.
- Limited travel may be required.
- Ability to work effectively from home if needed.
