Job summary

KBR Metrology is seeking a Metrology Technician III to support the Metrology Program, calibrating IMTE and guiding workflow with technicians on onsite oven calibrations. The role emphasizes precision, documentation, and safe lab practices within a global engineering environment.

The candidate will perform complex maintenance, calibrations, and reporting, while collaborating with customers to define technical requirements and ensure quality standards are met in a fast-paced lab setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with 6+ years experience in the field, OR Associate's degree in engineering technology or other relevant field and 4 years experience. Formal military PMEL, TMDE or calibration school training with proof of attendance.
• Technician will be inspecting fixtures and tooling using CMM.
• Previous customer service experience is a plus
• U.S. Citizenship Status required due to client requirement.

Responsibilities

• Performs calibration and repairs on electrical, physical/mechanical, and dimensional equipment.
• Calibrates laboratory standards and ensures documentation aligns with Quality Systems.
• Conducts complex configuration tests and interprets schematics and testing procedures.
• Provides advanced troubleshooting and repair work on electronic and instrumentation equipment.
• Generates detailed reports on system conditions, repairs, and preventive maintenance.
• Uses and maintains metrology lab test equipment proficiently across multiple measurement areas.
• Provides guidance on equipment operation and assists customers in defining technical requirements.
• Performs complex maintenance, including inspection and diagnostics using schematics and computer tools.
• Ensures safe working practices and compliance with HSE requirements.
• Resolves issues, improves departmental productivity, and proactively addresses potential problems.
