Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager for Prime Video Personalization and Discovery in Seattle. You will own the end-to-end delivery of the product, user experience, and technology for state-of-the-art recommendations across Prime Video surfaces.

You will lead cross-functional teams, drive roadmaps, and collaborate with Product and engineering to shape the future of TV and streaming experiences at scale.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience.
  • 3+ years of software development experience.
  • 3+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams.
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules.
  • Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design.

Key job responsibilities

As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will work deeply with engineering and science teams on the design, implementation, and drive the delivery of large scale recommendations systems that power all Prime Video surfaces.

You will be responsible for leading initiatives spanning across teams of software engineers, designing and building innovative software solutions for our customers. You will need to be an excellent leader and bridge across various parts of Tech, Product, and business.

A day in the life
  • Craft a goal update for a key goal that goes up to our VP
  • Attend an engineering standup and help unblock a key milestone
  • Update the experimental roadmap with updates on hundreds of experiments in flight across the org
  • Work through a launch-blocker with some engineers
  • Talk with Product managers about the requirements for an upcoming project
  • Respond to some emails and work through the release strategy for an upcoming project

We love experimentation and learning how we can improve the quality of our recommendations. As a TPM, you will work across the team and the broader PV organization to deliver meaningful change.

Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 3+ years of software development experience
  • 3+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Experience building and evaluating system‑level technical design
  • Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi‑million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
