Job summary

Amazon in Seattle, WA is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager for International Emerging Stores Payments to lead cross-functional delivery of large-scale payment initiatives in emerging markets.

You will own the roadmap, define requirements, influence design choices, and drive on-time delivery while building secure, scalable payment capabilities for customers across regions and partners in a fast-growing environment.

The IESP (International Emerging Stores Payments) team's vision is to delight our customers with the best payment experience in emerging markets such as Mexico, Brazil, Australia amongst others! To achieve this vision, we are in search of Sr. Technical Program Manager who will lead delivery of large, significantly complex, cross-functional technology initiatives and launch customer facing features for our clients.

As a TPM on our team, you will be responsible for owning the roadmap, define clear requirements, make/facilitate tech design choice and decisions, and plan and achieve the delivery dates. You will have significant influence on our overall strategy by helping define product features, influence system architecture, and spearhead the best practices to delivery high quality products. The ideal candidate is clearly passionate about new opportunities and has a demonstrated track record delivering new features and products in highly complex environment. A commitment to team work, hustle, and strong communication skills (to both business and technical partners) are absolute requirements. You will tackle large complex projects, document complex business rules in a highly distributed team, understand service-oriented architecture and lead build of reliable, scalable, secure products for our customers in a hyper-growth environment where priorities shift fast.

Key job responsibilities

  • Manage complex, cross-functional programs and projects to deliver new payment capabilities and enhancements for emerging markets
  • Partner with engineering, product, and other teams to define roadmaps, requirements, and success criteria for EM payments initiatives
  • Establish processes and governance to ensure on-time delivery, quality, and risk mitigation for EM payments projects
  • Communicate progress and blockers to senior leadership, and drive issue resolution to keep EM payments programs on track
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to increase efficiency in EM payments operations

Basic Qualifications
  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 3+ years of software development experience
  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location. Amazon also offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance (medical, dental, vision, prescription, Basic Life & AD&D insurance and option for Supplemental life plans, EAP, Mental Health Support, Medical Advice Line, Flexible Spending Accounts, Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement coverage), 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.
