Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end compliance program for AWS datacenter infrastructure hardware, ensuring safety, EMC, energy efficiency and material compliance across all jurisdictions.
  • Drive compliance spec development and execution for new and existing infrastructure with test plans, timelines, and acceptance criteria.
  • Own the compliance critical path and strategy for AWS hardware deployments; identify risks and unblock timelines for regional launches.
  • Provide compliance engineering support during New Product Introduction, partnering with hardware teams to embed compliance-by-design.
  • Collaborate with Datacenter Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Regulatory Analysts, Legal, Trade Strategy, and Health & Safety to implement specs and policies.
  • Build and manage integrated compliance program plans aligning milestones with certification timelines and regional launches.
  • Drive stakeholder alignment across VP-level leadership, clearly communicating risks and tradeoffs.
  • Develop scalable, sustainable compliance processes to improve efficiency and coverage across AWS infrastructure.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for an experienced Sr. Technical Program Manager who will be responsible for providing global product compliance technical program management and leadership to ensure that all electrical, mechanical, material, and other regulated performance specifications are satisfied in all countries where AWS business exists or will expand.

Key job responsibilities

You will be part of the AWS Product Compliance Engineering team within AWS Global Trade and Regulatory Compliance team (GTPC) that collaborates with Datacenter Engineering, Product Engineering, Compliance Engineers, Regulatory Analyst, legal, trade strategy, and supply chain to implement compliance specifications and policies, provide product compliance support during product development, builds compliance programs to support AWS Datacenter Engineering, Design Engineering, Power Generations, Advanced Robotics, Region Service Business, and Health & Safety businesses including Datacenter Basis of Design (BOD) lifecycle management, hardware technology development and deployment, new region planning and launches. You will develop compliance specification and plan, troubleshoot and resolve compliance issues that arise in the course of AWS’s NPI and other business processes.

Key job responsibilities
  • End-to-end compliance program ownership for AWS datacenter infrastructure equipment — including compute, storage, networking, security hardware, power and cooling infrastructure, and advanced robotics — ensuring all products meet applicable safety, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), security, energy efficiency, and material compliance requirements and approvals across global jurisdictions.
  • Drive compliance specification development and execution for new and existing infrastructure products, defining compliance requirements, test plans, certification timelines, and acceptance criteria.
  • Own the compliance critical path and overall strategy for AWS hardware deployments, proactively identifying risks, resolving blockers, and ensuring compliance milestones are met to support on-time regional launches.
  • Provide compliance engineering support during New Product Introduction (NPI), partnering with hardware engineering teams to embed compliance-by-design principles early in the product development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate across multiple stakeholder organizations including Datacenter Engineering (DCE), Annapurna, Hardware Engineering, AWS Infra Service Supply Chain, Compliance Engineers, Regulatory Analysts, Legal, Trade Strategy, and Health & Safety (H&S) to implement compliance specifications and policies.
  • Build and manage integrated compliance program plans that align engineering development milestones with certification timelines, supply chain readiness, and regional launch schedules.
  • Drive stakeholder alignment and escalation management across VP-level leadership, ensuring compliance risks and tradeoffs are communicated clearly and resolved decisively.
  • Build scalable, sustainable compliance processes that improve operational efficiency, reduce cycle time for certifications, and enhance compliance coverage across the growing AWS infrastructure portfolio.
  • Drive continuous improvement in compliance program execution through mechanisms, automation, and tooling enhancements.
