Job description

Overview

SpaceX seeks a Senior Technical Business Development Manager (Starlink) to identify, develop, and commercialize new business models that unlock growth opportunities for Starlink across markets and customer segments. This hybrid role requires strong commercial instincts and deep technical fluency, bridging product, engineering, and commercial strategy to define go-to-market approaches for new offerings. This is not a traditional sales role; the successful candidate builds the commercial thesis, validates it with partners and customers, and establishes the foundation for new lines of business.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Identify and prioritize new commercial opportunities, develop business cases, go-to-market strategies, and deployment models.
  • Collaborate with Starlink product and network engineering teams to evaluate technical feasibility, define capability requirements, and inform the roadmap based on commercial opportunity.
  • Lead direct engagement with prospective customers and external counterparties to validate market hypotheses and structure commercial relationships.
  • Build pricing models, unit economics analyses, and revenue forecasts that translate complex inputs into clear leadership recommendations.
  • Coordinate with legal, regulatory, marketing, finance, and licensing teams to navigate operational and compliance considerations for new offerings.
  • Develop commercial proposals, partnership frameworks, and sales enablement materials.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM or business discipline
  • 8+ years of experience in business development, sales, or partnership management in consumer technology, telecommunications, utilities, or other subscription-based services
  • 3+ years of professional experience in telecommunications, networking, or connectivity-related industries
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • 10+ years in business development, sales, or partnership management in the above fields
  • Experience in technical sales, sales engineering, or roles requiring deep product fluency
  • Experience launching or commercializing new business models, especially in emerging markets or with underserved segments
  • Familiarity with multi-tenant, multi-user, or shared-access connectivity environments
  • General fluency with networking concepts to engage with engineering teams and customers on technical architecture
  • Strong analytical skills to build unit economics and commercial frameworks from first principles
  • Proven ability to own projects in ambiguous, high-velocity environments
  • Experience working cross-functionally with product, engineering, regulatory, and legal teams
  • MBA or advanced degree in business, engineering, or telecommunications
  • Multilingual capabilities a plus (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese, or other high-priority international markets)
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time to customer locations and SpaceX sites
  • Onsite position in Bastrop, TX or Redmond, WA; remote work not available
