Job summary

Anritsu Company in Morgan Hill, CA is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to support US federal, state, and international tax compliance, reporting, and planning. The role develops tax returns, tax provision workpapers, and related documentation with cross‑functional finance teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of US corporate income tax compliance and reporting experience in a Big 4 firm, large regional public accounting firm, and/or US multinational corporate tax department.
  • Strong understanding of US federal and state corporate income tax concepts, preferably for technology or manufacturing companies.
  • Working knowledge of US international tax concepts including Subpart F, FDII, GILTI, and FTC.
  • Strong Excel skills and ability to prepare and reconcile detailed tax workpapers.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare US federal, state, and local corporate income tax returns, including pro forma federal returns, state income/franchise tax returns, return attachments, and supporting workpapers.
  • Prepare tax provision taxable income workpapers and support the annual and quarterly income tax provision under ASC 740.
  • Prepare and support US international tax calculations, including Subpart F, FDII, GILTI, foreign tax credits, E&P, Forms 5471/5472/1118, transfer pricing documentation support, and Pillar 2 support.
  • Calculate federal and state estimated tax payments and extensions, including overpayment credits and supporting analyses.
  • Prepare state income tax workpapers, including apportionment factors, state modifications, credits, and return support for multiple states and entities.

Anritsu is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst in our Morgan Hill office to support the company's US federal, state, local, and international tax compliance, reporting, and planning functions. This role is responsible for preparing and supporting income tax returns, tax provision workpapers, estimated tax and extension calculations, property tax filings, tax payments, and other recurring compliance requirements.

The Senior Tax Analyst will work closely with the Director of Tax and cross-functional finance teams to ensure tax filings and workpapers are accurate, complete, timely, well documented, and prepared using the latest available source data. The role requires strong technical tax knowledge, attention to detail, ownership of assigned workstreams, and the ability to identify and elevate issues before deadlines are at risk.

This position is best suited for a tax professional who can independently prepare complex tax calculations, tie workpapers to return forms and source data, perform self-review, document conclusions, and communicate open items clearly.

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Prepare US federal, state, and local corporate income tax returns, including pro forma federal returns, state income/franchise tax returns, return attachments, and supporting workpapers.
  • Prepare tax provision taxable income workpapers and support the annual and quarterly income tax provision under ASC 740.
  • Prepare and support US international tax calculations, including Subpart F, FDII, GILTI, foreign tax credits, E&P, Forms 5471/5472/1118, transfer pricing documentation support, and Pillar 2 support.
  • Calculate federal and state estimated tax payments and extensions, including overpayment credits and supporting analyses.
  • Prepare state income tax workpapers, including apportionment factors, state modifications, credits, and return support for multiple states and entities.
  • Assist with the federal and multi-state R&D tax credit study, including data gathering, workpaper preparation, credit utilization, and related return impacts.
  • Prepare and maintain fixed asset and tax depreciation workpapers, including reconciliations to the general ledger and deferred tax support.
  • Manage US multi-state property tax compliance, including annual renditions, reconciliations, filings, payment support, and related documentation.
  • Support tax audits and controversy matters, including responding to tax authority notices, gathering support, preparing analyses, and monitoring resolution status.
  • Maintain tax compliance calendars for recurring filings, payments, estimates, extensions, audits, and other tax deadlines.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for tax workpapers, compliance processes, tax technology tools, and documentation standards.
  • Assist with special projects and ad hoc tax analyses as needed.
  • This position will be reporting to the Senior Tax Manager based in Morgan Hill
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of US corporate income tax compliance and reporting experience in a Big 4 firm, large regional public accounting firm, and/or US multinational corporate tax department.
  • Strong understanding of US federal and state corporate income tax concepts, preferably for technology or manufacturing companies.
  • Working knowledge of US international tax concepts including Subpart F, FDII, GILTI, and FTC.
  • Strong Excel skills and ability to prepare and reconcile detailed tax workpapers.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CPA license, CPA candidate, MST, MBA, or master's degree in accounting or taxation.
  • Hands-on experience with ASC 740 tax provision workpapers, deferred tax schedules, tax account roll forwards, and return-to-provision reconciliations.
  • Experience preparing complex international tax forms and calculations, including Forms 1118, 5471, 5472, 8991, 8992, and 8993.
  • Familiarity with R&D tax credits, *174 capitalization, *174A, *280C, and related federal and state return impacts.
  • Experience with tax depreciation, bonus depreciation, fixed asset workpapers, and Form 4562.
  • Experience with OneSource Income Tax, SAP, or similar tax compliance, provision, and ERP systems.
  • Strong tax research and analytical skills, including ability to interpret tax law, form instructions, and regulatory guidance.

The annual base salary range for this position is $115,000 - $155,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
