Position Summary

Profitwise Accounting is a national cloud accounting firm headquartered in San Diego, CA experiencing its 19th year of consecutive growth. We are looking for a Remote (work from home) Sr. Tax Accountant who will be responsible for empowering our clients to achieve their business and financial goals through tax planning, advisory, and thoughtful tax preparation and review for Business (S-Corp, C-Corp, Partnerships) and Individual tax returns.

Objectives

• Perform tax preparation with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness for business entities and individual tax returns.
• Provide assistance and guidance to junior tax team members as well as review their tax returns for accuracy and completeness.
• Work with business clients throughout the year to deliver strategic tax advice and tax projections.
• Conduct tax research as needed to support the team and clients.
• Perform closing journal entries in Quickbooks and some accounting review and clean up.
• Perform client advisory via zoom meetings on a periodic basis through the year, reviewing financials, budgets, and forecasts.

Competencies

• 3+ successfully completed tax seasons preparing both individual and business tax returns (S-Corps, Partnerships, mostly).
• Recent public accounting experience.
• High attention to detail.
• Skills and desire to work on a mix of both tax and accounting work.
• Strong software skills.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks.
• Ultratax experience a plus.
• Efficient and effective work habits; effective working remotely.
• Ability to successfully meet deadlines.
• CPA track or EA, required.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related area of study, or equivalent work experience.
• At least 3 years work experience in finance and accounting working for a public accounting firm.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $103,000 per year

• Maintain a set of core working hours between 8AM and 6PM in your US time zone.
