WHAT IS THE ROLE ABOUT?

This is not a traditional recruiting role focused only on volume, activity metrics, or simply moving resumes through a process. Instead, we're looking for a strategic talent expert who excels at understanding business needs, assessing talent, identifying alignment and misalignment, and designing thoughtful hiring processes that lead to better hiring decisions and stronger organizational outcomes. As a Senior Talent Partner, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to hiring managers and business leaders, guiding them through every stage of the hiring lifecycle while helping elevate hiring practices across the organization. You'll blend recruiting expertise, talent assessment, project management, analytics, and relationship building to deliver exceptional experiences for candidates and hiring teams alike.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:
Lead Full-Cycle Recruiting:

Own and manage the end-to-end recruitment process across a variety of professional, technical, operational, and leadership positions

  • Lead recruiting kickoff meetings and intake discussions to develop comprehensive hiring strategies
  • Create and manage job postings, lead sourcing and develop sourcing strategies, candidate outreach, lead and organize interview planning and selection activities (including scheduling)
  • Own initial assessment and filtering of applications, screen, assess, and interview candidates to identify both qualifications and long-term fit
  • Guide candidates through the hiring process while delivering a positive and professional experience
  • Lead offer development, compensation discussions, and salary negotiations when appropriate. Experience working within defined compensation structure and pre and post offer workflows within ATS
  • Ensure timely and thoughtful candidate communication, feedback, and dispositioning throughout the recruitment lifecycle
  • Champion a best-in-class candidate experience by overseeing the full recruitment journey, from attraction through onboarding, and collaborating across the organization to ensure a seamless, welcoming, and positive transition into VHL - Serving as a brand ambassador for VHL
Partner with Hiring Managers:

Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and hiring teams

  • Consult with hiring managers to understand business needs, team dynamics, role requirements, and success profiles
  • Develop and share meaningful candidate insights to inform candidate selection and decision making. Challenge assumptions when necessary and help leaders calibrate expectations to market realities
  • Provide guidance on interview best practices, candidate evaluation, and hiring decision-making
  • Facilitate productive hiring discussions and drive alignment among stakeholders
  • Build strong, collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization
Design Better Hiring Processes:

Help improve hiring outcomes by bringing structure, rigor, and consistency to the talent acquisition process

  • Develop interview frameworks, candidate evaluation forms, scorecards, and assessment methodologies
  • Design competency-based and behavioral interviewing approaches that improve candidate evaluation
  • Ensure hiring processes effectively assess technical capability, behavioral competencies, organizational fit, and future potential
  • Identify opportunities to increase consistency, fairness, and hiring quality across the organization
  • Partner with HR leadership to develop and enhance a library of TA learning content, tools, and best-practice guides that empower hiring stakeholders and advance a culture of high-bar TA
Drive Continuous Improvement Through Data:

Leverage data and insights to strengthen recruiting effectiveness

  • Monitor recruiting metrics, pipelines, hiring outcomes, and process effectiveness
  • Analyze trends and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Use data to influence decisions, improve stakeholder experiences, and optimize recruiting strategies
  • Partner with HR leadership to implement best practices and continuously enhance talent acquisition operations
Manage Recruiting Systems & Operations:

Maintain the tools, systems, and processes that support a best-in-class recruitment function

  • Partner with team to support and optimize applicant tracking system (ATS) processes and workflows
  • Manage recruiting-related platforms, including LinkedIn and other sourcing tools
  • Ensure data integrity, process consistency, and compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations
  • Participate in recruiting projects, employer branding initiatives, and talent-related programs as needed
