Responsibilities

Summary:The SeniorSystems Specialist is responsible forinstalling, engineeringand maintainingoperating systems and related software to ensurestable performance. This role will be a technical expert, providing support remotely, as well as, at production locations performing maintenance and repairs, including software and computer installations and upgrades, routine automation, security maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical support for all users and projects of the organization. This position may require some travel to remote Alaska sites.

  • Performs routine analysis to include evaluation of hardware and software based on business processes and end user criteria.

  • Directly interacts with assigned managers and staff to resolve hardware and software-based issues, as wellas,providing automation services as needed in support of strategic and operational objectives.

  • Develops andmaintainssystem specifications and technical documentation

  • Monitors datacenter health andrespondsto issues as they arise; provides recommendations for improving the server environment, such as capacity thresholds, security gaps, patchlevelsand hardware recalls.

  • Maintainsfactory support softwareincluding,production inventory, labeling,factoryand energy management, etc.; fine tunes system parameters and configuration to optimize performance and ensure security.

  • Identifiesproject requirements by interviewing stakeholders, analyzing operations,determiningproject scope, and documenting results.

  • Maintains systems by researching and resolving problems,maintainingsystemsintegrity, and administering security.

  • Reviewschanges and upcoming developments in software applications

  • Creates documentation for supported systems and enhancements.

  • Designs, tests, andmodifiesapplications, modules and/or approaches and required enhancements.

  • Performs advanced analysis and troubleshooting for various applications.


Additional Responsibilities:



  • Actsasliaisonbetween Information Technology vendors and Trident Seafoods as needed.

  • May provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to less experienced team members.

  • Regularly worksonsite to buildstrong teamconnections, collaborate across functions, and solve problems in real time.

  • A minimum of six years’ experience working in IT systems or a similar role.

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, information systems, or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education and years of experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities(KSAs):



  • Experience and advanced knowledge of programming languages and operating systems.

  • Expertisein project management, application design and integration, and cloud computing (Microsoft Azure).

  • A strong understanding of computer systems and web services technology.

  • Excellent attention to detail, with a demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and to self-motivate and follow-through onprojects.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally andestablishrelationships withdifferent levelsof management and others of varying skill sets.

  • Demonstrated troubleshooting and customer service skills.

  • A strong ability to convey technical information to non-technical end users.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to analyze, organize, and simplify complex problems to develop practical solutions.


Work environment:


This is an on-site position based at the Trident Support Center office in Seattle’s Ballard neighborhood, with the option to work remotely on Fridays.


In-office time takes place in a typical office environment: temperature controlled with adequate lighting and moderate noise. While remote, employees must provide appropriate home office space.


Physical demands:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, or crouch. May occasionallylift upto 15 lbs.
