Our people make us who we are, and we create incredible products and experiences that empower us to THINK OUTSIDE.Position Overview:As a Sr. Systems Engineer, you will develop CAD-based vehicle layouts, packaging concepts, and interface definitions supporting vehicle integration and platforming initiatives for future Off-Road Vehicle platforms, with an emphasis on powertrain integration and associated vehicle subsystems. Working across vehicle, powertrain, manufacturing, validation, and design engineering teams, you provide technical leadership through packaging studies, requirements development, trade studies, and modular integration concepts. You develop and mature concepts from early development through their transition to production engineering teams. This role offers the opportunity to influence vehicle architecture and improve component reuse, platform commonality, and customer value across multiple vehicle platforms.Key Responsibilities:• Lead the development of vehicle-level layouts, interface requirements, and integration strategies for powertrain modules and associated vehicle subsystems while advancing platforming and component reuse objectives.• Develop and mature 3D CAD models, vehicle layouts, packaging studies, and integration concepts through early development, then transfer mature designs and integration requirements to subsystem design and release teams for production execution.• Facilitate technical tradeoff discussions across cross-functional teams to ensure designs and integration concepts meet program requirements while balancing cost, performance, timing, manufacturability, serviceability, and customer value.• Develop and maintain vehicle-level interface documents, powertrain integration models, and application guides that support reuse across multiple vehicle platforms.• Support and conduct engineering analyses, including tolerance analysis, finite element analysis, computational fluid dynamics, thermal analysis, and design optimization, to inform design decisions and assess compliance with requirements.• Participate in vehicle architecture reviews, design reviews, and technical decision-making activities.• Research emerging technologies and benchmark competitive and cross-industry products to identify solutions that improve platform commonality, customer value, performance, and cost.• Translate research and benchmarking insights into requirements, integration strategies, and design concepts.• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to design engineers, architects, and cross-functional teams supporting vehicle integration initiatives.Desired Competencies:• Technical / Functional Expertise: You apply the required technical or professional knowledge to perform your role effectively and stay current within your area of expertise.• Critical Thinking: You analyze information objectively, evaluate options, and apply sound judgment to solve problems and make informed decisions.• Collaboration: You work effectively with others across functions and levels, contributing to shared goals while respecting different perspectives.Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.• Minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical design, vehicle integration, powertrain systems, platform development, or a related engineering field.• Demonstrated experience leading complex vehicle integration, platforming, commonality, or architecture initiatives across multiple vehicle programs and product development phases.• Proficiency with 3D CAD software; Creo experience is preferred.• Experience applying systems engineering principles, requirements development, vehicle packaging, subsystem integration, interface management, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, design failure mode and effects analysis, design reviews, tolerance analysis, computer-aided engineering-guided design, and engineering documentation.• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and design-for-manufacturing principles associated with high-volume production environments.• Experience performing engineering trade studies and evaluating competing technical solutions.• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the demonstrated ability to influence technical decisions and build alignment across organizations without direct authority.• Recognized technical expertise and experience mentoring engineers in vehicle integration, packaging, interface management, or a related engineering discipline.• Travel may be required less than 25% of the time.• This position is not eligible for sponsorship.#LI-CS99The starting pay range for Minnesota is $100,000 to $135,000 per year. Individual salaries and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
