Sr. Systems Engineer - Linux - 25-025 - San Diego, California

AUSGAR Technologies has an exciting, NEW opportunity for a Sr. Systems Engineer - Linux to join our team of smart and innovative technical team members working in San Diego, California.

Candidate must be comfortable being onsite (no remote work) with travel (up to 50%).

AUSGAR Technologies seeks a Sr. Systems Engineer to join their team. Radiant Mercury is the premier Cross Domain Solution (CDS) for the Navy. As a member of the team, you are responsible for installing, configurating and testing various Radiant Mercury configurations.

Responsibilities
  • Install and configure systems in the government lab.
  • Support the CDS development, installation, training and testing of the family of systems.
  • Work closely with DoD and Intelligence Community stakeholder engineers to ensure compliance with government regulations, military standards and security protocols.
  • Independently perform installations, upgrades and configure systems at various DoD sites both inside the continental/contiguous United States (CONUS) and outside the continental/contiguous United States (OCONUS).
  • Conduct Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) of configuration of system installations to verify they are operating securely and as configured.
  • Complete required test reports from IV&V.
  • Provide technical direction and recommendations to the government test team.
  • Review technical documentation and witness and report on Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of new software builds and operating system patches.
  • Conduct functional testing at the component and system levels.
Requirements
  • Active Secret clearance with the ability to get a TS/SCI required.
  • CompTIA Linux+ or equivalent cert required. Linux+ first choice.
  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT or related STEM degree, from an accredited college/university preferred or twelve or equivalent years of experience.
  • Candidate must be comfortable being onsite (no remote work) with travel (up to 50%).
  • Strong Linux/Unix experience required, with command line experience, preferably Red Hat 8 and 9 experience.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix shell scripting.
  • Basic networking knowledge/experience.
  • Ability to perform installations independently within 6 months after receiving training.
  • Ability to become a Trusted Agent within 18 months after receiving training and TS/SCI.
  • Ability to work independently and follow written step-by-step instructions.
  • Experience with Radiant Mercury preferred.
  • Experience with Navy Command and Control systems preferred.
  • Strong communication and written skills.

Salary range: $150-190K

Based on your qualifications, you will be placed in Level I-V.

An essential qualification for this position is successfully obtaining a security clearance issued by the Federal Government, which may require successful completion of a background check.
