Job summary

RTX is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer - Integration Lead for our Tucson, AZ site. You will ensure all system components meet E3 specs and performance standards prior to delivery, leading test planning, review, and integration activities.

The role requires a STEM degree, 5+ years of experience, and the ability to obtain Interim Secret clearance. Onsite work in Tucson with potential travel up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and develop detailed documentation to support formal testing reviews (TRR, CTS, ESRB).
  • Develop and review test reports for accuracy and compliance.
  • Lead and support test plans and procedures (DVT, Qualification, Production Acceptance).
  • Collaborate with Test Architect to optimize strategies and processes.
  • Maintain Hardware Utilization Matrix (HUM) and ensure test equipment availability.
  • Support Lab Integration and Testing with cross-functional teams.
  • Contribute to Factory Test Equipment prove-in and checkout activities.
  • Mentor team members and align with program leadership goals.
  • May travel up to 10% for field tests.

In Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) we integrate, verify, and validate our products. We put our systems together, exercise them in the lab or in the field, measure and analyze performance, and make sure our products work the first time and every time. To accomplish this, we develop plans and procedures, debug and evaluate system functions and interfaces, develop test environments, and work hand-in-hand with our customers. We are excited to announce an opportunity for the SR. Systems Engineer - Integration Lead to join our team in Tucson, AZ. In this role, you will contribute to the critical process of ensuring all system components meet the required E3 specifications and performance standards prior to delivery.


What You Will Do:



  • Prepare and develop detailed documentation to support formal testing reviews, including Test Readiness Reviews (TRR), Consent to Ship (CTS), and Engineering Safety Review Boards (ESRBs).

  • Develop, review, and approve comprehensive test reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.

  • Lead and support the development, review, and approval of test plans and test procedures, including Design Verification Tests, Qualification Tests, and Production Acceptance Tests.

  • Collaborate with the Test Architect to optimize test strategies and processes.

  • Maintain and manage the Hardware Utilization Matrix (HUM) while ensuring that the necessary test equipment infrastructure is in place to meet all test requirements.

  • Support Engineering Lab Integration and Testing by working closely with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware and software into tactical systems, assessing their functionality and performance impact.

  • Contribute to Factory Test Equipment prove-in and checkout activities to validate system performance and reliability.

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members while aligning efforts with program leadership goals and objectives.

  • This position may require up to 10% travel during periods that include field test execution.


Qualifications You Must Have:



  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.

  • Experience with test planning and execution and/or test related reviews (CTS, TRR, & ESRB’s)

  • Ability to obtain Interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.


Qualifications We Prefer:



  • Expertise in design verification, qualification, and acceptance testing methodologies.

  • Skilled in developing integration and verification strategies and procedures to ensure system compliance with requirements.

  • Hands-on experience with hardware and software integration, with a preference for military or aerospace platforms.

  • Proficient in utilizing hardware, laboratory environments, and test equipment for system testing and validation.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives.

  • Experienced in documenting and presenting results to leadership and stakeholders, ensuring clarity and transparency.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; knowledge of MS Office tools, and experience in the preparation and presentation of briefing material.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
