Job summary

Leidos in the United States is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for the Cyber & Analytics Business Area. The role covers software systems design, analysis, integration, verification, and validation for the Navy’s Key Management projects.

The candidate will lead systems engineering efforts, develop architectures and CONOPS, and manage requirements. Telework may be available; 9/80 schedule is an option. A Secret DoD clearance is required within 90 days.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related field, with 8+ years of experience.
  • U.S. citizenship and an active Secret DoD security clearance.
  • Experience to analyze risks and navigate projects through processes.
  • Model-based systems engineering experience.
  • Experience with database software (MySQL, Oracle, MS SQL Server).
  • Familiarity with Linux and UNIX.
  • Understanding complex system development methods.
  • Experience with technical documentation development.
  • Knowledge of software design patterns and Agile methodologies.
  • DoD 8570 Security+ certification (required within 90 days).

Responsibilities

  • Lead system engineering, hardware, and software analysis for the Navy's Key Management portfolio.
  • Define/apply systems engineering processes to meet customer requirements.
  • Manage requirements including decomposition, allocation, verification, and validation.

  • Research, write, and review technical docs (manuals, specs, interface requirements, guides, data sheets).
  • Potential 9/80 schedule; some teleworking may be available; work at customer facilities up to 5 days/week.

Job Summary:

This projectprovidesthe full range of software systems design, analysis, integration, verification, and validation activities in support of the Navy’s Key Management project portfolio.The selected candidate will provide systemsengineeringexpertisein the following areas: system architecture and design; development and integration; requirements analysis, data flow analysis; network design and implementation; test/verification and validation; and documentation for the system.The selected candidatewillbe responsible forcollaborating with internal technical professionals on a day-to-day basis, and with POCs from customer organizations when necessary.

Additionalposition responsibilities alsoinclude:

  • Lead system engineering, hardware, and software analysis to support the Navy’s Key Management project portfolio.

  • Define and apply systems engineering processes to develop systems that meet customer requirements.

  • Manage requirements, including decomposition, allocation, verification, and validation forsubsequentuse by the development and test teams.

  • Define and develop System Architecture, CONOPS, and use case development using systems engineering methodologies.

  • Participate and lead discussions at customer meetings, working groups, and technical interchange meetings associated with the work performed in this project.

  • Required to research, design, write, and review a wide range of technical documentation that will include but not be limited to: technical manuals, design specification documents, interface requirements specification, system user guides, reference manuals, installation guides, and data sheets that may be required to assist with the design, integration, testing, and fielding of the system; will provide project briefing materials upon request.

  • Optionto work a 9/80 work schedule (i.e., 9 hour days, then work 8 hours on first Friday and off the second Friday)

  • The selected candidate willbe requiredto work at the customer facilities up to 5 days a week. Some teleworking may be available.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related field, with 8+ years of experience. Will consider experience in lieu of a degree.

  • Position requires US citizenship and an active Secret DoD security clearance.

  • Experience thatdemonstratesability to analyzerisks and uncertaintiesand ability to navigate projects through established processes.

  • Model based systems engineering experience.

  • Experience with database management software, such as MySQL, Oracle RDBMS, and Microsoft SQL Server.

  • Familiarity with operating systems, such as Linux and UNIX.

  • Understanding complex system development methods.

  • Experience with technical documentation development.

  • Knowledge of software design patterns.

  • Knowledge of Agile Development methodologies.

  • DoD 8570 approved security certification (i.e., Security +) (Will berequired90 days after hire).

Desired Qualifications:

  • Software development or shell scripting experience.

  • Past experienceusing CAMEO a plus.

  • Excellent scripting skills with knowledge of programming languages, such as Perl, Ruby, and Python.

  • Good knowledge of networking protocols, such as TCP, IP, and OSI models.

  • PastTest DrivenDevelopment (TDD) experience a strong plus.

  • Experience with CUCUMBER or similar TDD automation framework a plus.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $131,300.00 - $237,350.00
