Job summary

Synectic Solutions, Inc. (SSI) seeks an experienced engineering professional to support DoD aviation programs.

The role involves reviewing drawings, completing ECNs and ECPs, tracking requirements, and applying systems engineering methods to modern, complex systems. You will contribute to documentation and ensure compliance with acquisition standards while coordinating with engineers, logisticians, and cross‑functional teams on-site.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university.
• Three (3) years of recent and relevant experience required.
• Active DoD Secret Clearance or higher required; SAP helpful but not required.
• US Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Performs programmatic or technical knowledge tasks to design, test, and implement practical engineering solutions.
• Review and interpret technical drawings and documents to complete ECNs, RFVs, ECPs, and related paperwork.
• Track and validate requirements; perform risk management using ROI tools.
• Perform configuration management functions and support engineering development of complex systems.
• Contribute to technical documentation and ensure compliance with acquisition standards.

Job description

* This role supports contingent workforce initiatives and related staffing efforts.

Primary Responsibilities

• Performs programmatic or technical knowledge identifying, formulating, designing, and/or testing practical solutions to engineering problems
• Review and interpret technical drawings and technical documents to correctly and efficiently complete the paperwork for Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), Requests for Variance (RFVs), Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), etc.
• Tracking and validating requirements
• Perform Risk Management functions, experienced using the ROI tool
• Perform Configuration Management functions
• Guide the engineering development of modern complex systems
• Employ systems engineering methods and tools in the development of systems.
• Contribute to technical documentation and compliance with acquisition standards

Required Qualifications

• Must hold a BA/BS degree in a technical field or scientific field from an accredited college or university
• Must have three (3) years of recent and relevant experience
• Experience with the A/U/RGM-84 Harpoon missile and/or similar weapon system
• Experience with Depot and/or Weapon Contractors involving sustainment
• Experience with Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and modifications of weapon systems
• Demonstrated experience in an area of engineering expertise is required
• Knowledge of systems engineering and DoD acquisition processes is required
• Direct experience in defense, aerospace, or government programmatic/technical settings.
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills for working with engineers, logisticians, and multi-disciplinary teams.
• Proficient in the MS Office 365 suite
• Have an active DoD Secret Clearance or higher. SAP would be helpful but not required.
• Must be a US Citizen

Work Environment

• This position supports a Department of War aviation acquisition program and may require on-site support at a government or contractor facility.
• The role requires frequent coordination with government customers, contractor teammates, and cross-functional technical and business teams.
• Work products may include program documentation, briefings, reports, schedules, financial inputs, action item trackers, and meeting support materials.
