Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Sr Systems Analyst to join our Global Operations IT team in California. You will support Distribution & Logistics systems, including Level 2 support for WMOS 2010/2018, and contribute to initiatives in Logistics Control Tower, machine automation, and RPA.

You will gather requirements, design and implement system solutions, coordinate with vendors and internal teams, perform testing, maintenance, and training, and help deliver projects on time and within

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years as a Systems Analyst or related technical development experience on Manhattan WMOS (2010/2018).
  • 2-3 years of Oracle PL/SQL experience including stored procedures/trigger development.
  • 2-3 years with PPS processes (Warehouse Mgmt, Transportation Mgmt, Order Mgmt) and familiarity with QAD Precision/Trax.
  • 2-3 years with integration technologies (XML, webMethods, OFM).
  • 1-2 years with reporting tools (IBM Cognos).
  • 1-2 years working with machine automation systems (conveyors, printers, scales).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work in a dynamic environment; strong collaboration and autonomous work style.

Responsibilities

  • Gather & analyze business needs; document requirements and create functional/technical specs.
  • Design system solutions aligning with IT architecture standards and create detailed design documents.
  • Lead implementation and integration of new sites and processes; ensure seamless integration with other applications.
  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance, including incident handling and production support; maintain system documentation.
  • Lead or participate in project planning, tracking scope, timelines and resources; ensure on-time delivery within budget.
  • Conduct end-user and technical staff training; develop training materials and user guides.

Job Summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sr Systems Analyst to join our Global Operations IT team. As a member of this team, you will play a key role in supporting the Distribution & Logistics business functions and associated systems, including providing Level 2 support for Manhattan WMOS 2010, 2018. In addition, you will also have a chance to engage in initiatives involving Logistics Control Tower, Machine Automation, and Robotic Process Automation. Key Responsibilities
  • Requirements Gathering & Analysis:
    • Collaborate with individuals involved to collect and record business needs.
    • Analyze and interpret business needs into functional and technical specifications.
    • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for proposed solutions.
    • Document system requirements and system design artifacts including flow/sequence diagrams.
  • System Design & Development:
    • Design system solutions that meet business requirements and align with IT architecture standards.
    • Develop detailed design documents, including data models, process flows, and system interfaces.
    • Partner with business analysts and architects on technical design and coordinate development work with vendors as well as internal development teams.
  • System Implementation & Integration:
    • Run the implementation of new sites, processes, and improvements to existing systems.
    • Coordinate with various teams to ensure seamless integration with other applications and systems.
    • Configure WMS Manhattan 2010 and 2018 systems to align to business needs.
    • Conduct system testing, debugging, and validation to ensure accurate functionality.
  • Support & Maintenance:
    • Delivery and support of incident/break/fix and production support.
    • Offer continuous support for deployed systems, including identifying problems and devising practical solutions.
    • Develop and maintain system documentation, including user manuals and technical guides.
    • Monitor system performance and conduct regular maintenance to ensure efficient operation.
  • Project Management:
    • Lead or participate in project planning, including defining project scope, objectives, timelines, and resources.
    • Monitor project advancement and regularly communicate updates to relevant parties.
    • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Training & Development:
    • Conduct training sessions for end-users and technical staff on new systems and improvements.
    • Develop training materials and user guides to facilitate knowledge transfer.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Systems Analyst or technical developer experience on Manhattan WMOS (2010 and 2018).
  • 2-3 years of experience with Oracle PL/SQL, including stored procedures/trigger development.
  • 2-3 years of experience with technologies and processing environments used to support the Pick, Pack, Ship (PPS) process, such as Warehouse Mgmt, Transportation Mgmt, and Order Mgmt systems; experience with QAD Precision/Trax is also preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience working with Integration technologies and systems, such as XML, webMethods, or Oracle Fusion Middleware (OFM).
  • 1-2 years of experience with reporting tools, such as IBM Cognos.
  • 1-2 years of experience working with and supporting machine automation systems, such as conveyors, print and apply applicators, in‑line weigh scales, and case sealers.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and work in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to also work autonomously.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to travel up to 25% international and domestic travel.
  • Ability to work in an office environment with standard office equipment.
Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $103,100.00-$154,700.00.
