Job summary

Amazon in Reading, MA is seeking a System Reliability Engineer to enable reliable robotic solutions, focusing on availability, lifecycle cost and performance. You will develop RAM models, FMEA, test plans, and support maintainability across new products and field launches.

The candidate will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, contribute to design-for-reliability, and work on diagnostics/tooling to reduce troubleshooting time, with a base salary range announced for the role.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with interdisciplinary teams to execute product design from concept to production.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in hardware design and validation of components, subsystems and systems.
  • ASQ Certified Reliability Engineer or equivalent.
  • Advanced degree in Reliability Engineering, Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering or another applicable discipline.
  • Experience in automotive, defense, or industrial product development.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Design for Reliability, Maintainability and Supportability guidance to new product and solutions introduction teams.
  • Develop RAM models for complex electro‑mechanical systems.
  • Develop RAM models for Amazon products and systems.
  • Develop Failure Modes Effects Analysis.
  • Develop reliability test plans and data collection strategies.
  • Assess vendor reliability data.
  • Advocate for the customer during the design process on failure modes, fault diagnostics and impacts to product supportability.
  • Design tool kits, identify custom tools and other support mechanisms for Robotic Systems.
  • Develop lifecycle support strategies and mechanisms for new products.
  • Ensure supportability requirements and concerns are addressed for field launch.
  • Work to identify opportunities for improved maintenance strategies.
  • Develop tools, and assist with processes to expand diagnostic capabilities improve ergonomics, and reduce troubleshooting time.

Key job responsibilities

As a System Reliability Engineer you will enable development of robotic solutions optimized for availability, life cycle cost and performance.

Basic Qualifications
