Job summary

Amazon Leo is building a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites and seeks a Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer in Bellevue, WA.

The role leads quality mechanisms across Leo's supply chain for electronics, mechanical parts, and semiconductors, shaping processes and tools for high-volume, mission-critical hardware. The ideal candidate is a systems thinker with strong analytical skills, effective communication, and a passion for developing manufacturing systems and tools to ensure top-quality

Qualifications

• Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization.
• Experience preparing quality metrics and engaging with stakeholders to set and drive quality goals.
• Experience in supplier relationship management (e.g. SLAs management, performance/scorecarding).
• Experience in root cause analysis and error correction, identifying changes to procedures and systems to implement long-term fixes.
• 5+ years of quality assurance engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the quality management system and its mechanisms for Leo's supply chain operations.
• Govern the supplier quality lifecycle from new product introduction through sustaining.
• Implement and sustain continuous improvement mechanisms: SPC monitoring, control plan optimization, PFMEA updates, and manufacturing optimization opportunities.
• Analyze variation sources, challenge specifications, and define proactive improvement plans grounded in data and physics.
• Drive defect identification and elimination activities including application of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools.
• Collaborate with engineering, suppliers, supply chain, and manufacturing to optimize Design for Excellence.
• Move quality checks upstream and eliminate the need to inspect quality into the product by achieving high process capability.
• Lead process capability analysis (Cpk/Ppk) for critical characteristics and intervene before defects are created.
• Develop and execute Layered Process Audits at supplier sites.
• Drive structured RCCA using 8D methodology.
• Own supplier qualification (PPAP).
• Foster a culture of quality, improvement and learning with Leo.

As a Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer, you will develop, drive and optimize mechanisms for quality assurance and control activities for a large supply chain of electronics, mechanical parts and semiconductors. Export Control Requirement

A day in the life

This role is an individual contributor and is the quality mechanisms lead within Leo's supply chain operations. This role must identify and solve problems within a supply chain while coaching teams and developing mechanisms to consistently deliver high-quality products.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience implementing repeatable processes and driving automation or standardization

Preferred Qualifications

• Lean-Six Sigma Black Belt certification
• Experience developing, auditing, and optimizing a quality system in an ISO9000 / AS9100 environment, or similar standard.
