Sleep Number Corporation is seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer to lead supplier quality performance across our global supply base, focusing on electronics and foundations. The candidate will mentor team members, develop supplier scorecards, and oversee training while aligning with APQP/PPAP processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required.
• 8+ years of supplier quality experience in a lean manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier quality performance, corrective actions (SCARs), audits, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage supplier nonconformances, customer complaints, deviations, and root cause investigations.
• Drive supplier quality improvements using statistical analysis, process capability, and performance metrics.
• Support NPI activities through APQP, PPAP, supplier qualification, and launch readiness.
• Conduct QMS, process, and compliance audits and ensure closure of findings.
• Partner with Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to optimize supplier performance.
• Develop supplier scorecards and establish key quality metrics.
• Mentor team members, support onboarding, and deliver training.

This role serves as a technical leader responsible for supplier development, risk management, quality improvement, audit execution, and supplier readiness throughout the New Product Introduction (NPI) lifecycle.The ideal candidate combines strong engineering expertise with leadership presence, supplier management experience, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior leaders. **What You'll Do*** Lead supplier quality performance, corrective actions (SCARs), audits, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.* Manage supplier nonconformances, customer complaints, deviations, and root cause investigations.* Drive supplier quality improvements using statistical analysis, process capability, and performance metrics.* Support NPI activities through APQP, PPAP, supplier qualification, and launch readiness.* Conduct QMS, process, and compliance audits and ensure closure of findings.* Partner with Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to optimize supplier performance.* Develop supplier scorecards and establish key quality metrics.* Mentor team members, support onboarding, and deliver training.* Serve as a trusted technical resource and represent Supplier Quality in leadership discussions. **Required Qualifications*** Bachelor's degree in Engineering.* 8+ years of supplier quality experience in a lean manufacturing environment.* Experience with QMS, APQP, PPAP, CAPA/SCAR, auditing, and supplier development.* Strong project management, problem-solving, and communication skills.* Ability to read technical drawings and specifications.* Demonstrated leadership and cross-functional influence. **Preferred Qualifications*** Bachelor's degree in **Electrical, Industrial, Aerospace, or Mechanical Engineering**.* Master's degree in Engineering.* Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, CQA, CQE, CMQ/CQM, or PMP certification.* Knowledge of ISO standards and regulatory quality systems.* Experience with statistical analysis tools such as JMP or Minitab.* Experience with Power BI, MS Project, SharePoint, and ERP systems. **Working Conditions*** Standard 40 hour work week* Our Minneapolis office operates in a hybrid environment with 3 days in office per week Salary Pay Range: $82,700.00 -$110,300.00**Wellbeing**At Sleep Number, wellbeing isn’t a program—it’s part of who we are.
