Job summary

Expand Energy Corporation seeks a senior supervisor to lead a team of landmen and provide strategic direction within the Exploration Team. You will develop leasing strategies across multiple states, supervise negotiations and contracts, and coordinate with geology, engineering and operations to ensure drilling goals are met.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years in land management, and preference for Energy Management or JD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Energy Management or JD preferred.
• CPL certification is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years related work experience.
• Experience with land leasing and acquisition strategies.
• Ability to manage sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement exploration leasing and acquisition strategies across multiple states and basins.
• Supervise negotiations, acquisition of oil and gas leases, and contract preparation.
• Review and approve purchase and sale agreements, joint development agreements, and joint ventures required to execute exploration plans.
• Notify management of ownership position, competitor activity, potential legal issues, via reports, emails, meetings.
• Coordinate with geology, engineering, and operations to meet drilling goals and deadlines.
• Supervise activities of all in-house and field landmen on exploration projects.
• Provide direct and indirect supervision in hiring, promotion, compensation, and termination decisions.

Job Summary

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• - Develop and implement exploration leasing and acquisition strategies across multiple states and basins
• - Supervise negotiations, acquisition of oil and gas leases, and contract preparation
• - Review and approve purchase and sale agreements, joint development agreements, and joint ventures needed to ensure execution of the company's oil and gas exploration plans
• - Notify management of the company's ownership position, competitor activity, potential legal issues, or other matters via reports, emails, and meetings
• - Coordinate and communicate with representatives from internal departments such as geology, engineering, and operations to ensure that the appropriate steps are taken to meet the company drilling goals and deadlines
• - Supervise the activities of all in-house and field landmen assigned to exploration projects
• - Provides direct and indirect supervision of personnel: participates in decisions involving hiring, promotion, compensation, and termination of employment

Job Specific Skills

• - Advanced knowledge of and ability to apply land management principles including negotiations and leasing
• - Advanced knowledge of and ability to apply laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders and agency rules across multiple states
• - Advanced knowledge of and ability to apply oil, gas and mineral laws in various states and affiliated oil and gas leases, deeds, and title curative documents
• - Able to manage large amounts of sensitive information with accuracy and critical attention to detail
• - Knowledge of administrative procedures in order to prepare and maintain reports, budgets, and administrative records as required
• - Ability to provide on-the-job training, performance assessment, coaching, motivation, and counseling to employees to encourage optimum performance and continued skill development
• - Ability to ensure all employees are operating within all Expand, state, and federal guidelines, policies, and regulations

Education

Minimum: Bachelor’s degree - from accredited university

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree - from accredited university - Energy Management OR

Preferred: Doctoral degree - from accredited university - Juris Doctorate

Preferred: Other - CPL

Experience

Preferred: 5 years related work experience
