Job summary

MPI is seeking a Senior Superintendent to lead ground-up multifamily construction in New England, with a focus on on-site leadership, safety, quality, and schedule adherence. You will manage subcontractors, coordinate with PMs, Designers, Ownership, and Inspection Authorities to resolve field challenges.

Based in Connecticut, you will join a tightly knit team in a growth phase, contributing to a well-capitalized, vertically integrated developer expanding its regional footprint.

Qualifications

• 10+ years as Superintendent or lead field manager on ground-up multifamily projects.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, ordinances, and safety regulations.
• Procore and Primavera P6 experience preferred.
• Manage multiple trades and lead complex building operations.
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily onsite construction activities for ground-up multifamily projects.
• Coordinate subcontractor teams to maintain productivity, quality, and safety.
• Ensure schedule milestones align with budget and design intent.
• Enforce jobsite safety plans and OSHA compliance.
• Drive site logistics: delivery coordination, manpower sequencing.

The Sr. Superintendent will oversee ground-up multifamily construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role involves managing all on-site activities, coordinating with subcontractors, and ensuring safety compliance.

Our client is a nationally recognized, privately held real estate developer, general contractor, and Owner's Project Management (OPM) firm with over 30 years of experience specializing in the multifamily sector-their core focus and area of deep expertise. While headquartered in Maryland, the firm is actively expanding into new regions, including Texas and New England.

Description

The Senior Superintendent will be responsible for:

• Oversee and manage all daily onsite construction activities for ground-up multifamily projects.
• Lead and coordinate subcontractor teams to maintain productivity, quality, and safety standards.
• Ensure projects meet schedule milestones and are delivered in alignment with budget and design intent.
• Implement and enforce jobsite safety plans, conducting regular inspections to ensure OSHA compliance.
• Drive site logistics, including delivery coordination, manpower allocation, and sequencing of construction activities.
• Maintain daily logs, progress reports, and documentation using Procore and other project management tools.
• Collaborate closely with Project Managers, Design Consultants, Ownership, and Inspection Authorities to resolve field-related challenges.
• Conduct regular quality assurance walkthroughs and proactively address any issues impacting workmanship or materials.

Profile

The successful Senior Superintendent will have:

• 10+ years of experience as a Superintendent or lead field manager on ground-up multifamily projects.
• Strong understanding of building codes, ordinances, and safety regulations applicable to multifamily construction.
• Proficiency in project management and scheduling software such as Procore and Primavera P6 (preferred).
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple trades, resolve onsite conflicts, and lead complex building operations independently.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Strong attention to detail with a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
