The Worldwide Grocery Real Estate team at Amazon is seeking a Sr. Store Designer to lead store design initiatives from concept through construction.

You will coordinate with internal teams, external consultants, and vendors to deliver data-driven, brand-consistent designs for a fast-moving retail program. You will manage multiple projects across a large portfolio, applying knowledge of code compliance, 3D visualization, and industry trends to create efficient layouts and compelling customer

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Interior Design.
  • 7+ years of commercial retail design or architecture experience.
  • Intermediate Revit skills.

Responsibilities

  • Translate brand design standards and concepts in an innovative yet fiscally responsible way.
  • Manage the design process, interfacing with internal and external design partners.
  • Develop FF&E and Décor packages.
  • Work with internal/external stakeholders to develop design development packages.
  • Coordinate with Construction, Procurement and Operations on budget and schedule considerations.

Key job responsibilities
  • Solutions oriented, proactive and flexible attitude; willingness to take an “all hands-on deck” approach.
  • Translate brand design standards and concepts in an innovative yet fiscally responsible way.
  • Work across a large portfolio and multiple banners with a diverse set of programs.
  • Manage the design process, interfacing with internal and external design partners.
  • Adapt site specific conditions metrics and standards to store designs.
  • Build data driven scope of work with internal stake holders, focused on servicing operating stores.
  • Develop FF&E and Décor packages.
  • Work with key internal and external stakeholders in the development and production of comprehensive design development packages.
  • Create presentation packages to communicate design with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
  • Drive and create Schematic Design Packages.
  • Coordinate with Construction, Procurement and Operations Teams on budget and schedule considerations and value engineering efforts.
  • Manage consultants throughout all phases of design through the project lifecycle.
  • Provide Construction Administrative support as needed.
  • Archive completed drawings, redlines, and shop drawings.
  • Obtain landlord approvals per lease requirements.
  • Review and approves submittals and shop drawings
  • Demonstrated ability in building and health codes, 3D visualization, and industry trends
  • Communicate design vision in visual, written, and verbal formats.
  • Manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills .
  • Work effectively in an extremely fast paced, ambiguous environment.

The Worldwide Retail Growth & Development Design team approaches every site with customer obsession from the ground up to offer seamless grocery shopping experiences, whether customers are shopping in-store or online. We are at the forefront of revolutionizing a diverse grocery store network transforming the shopping experience through innovative store design. Our thoughtful designs work backwards form the customer to create experiences that transform everyday grocery shopping into an effortless journey. We optimize store layouts to create intuitive and efficient shopping environments while ensuring our designs are customer obsessed and prioritize workflow efficiency.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Architecture or Interior Design
  • 7+ years of commercial retail design or architecture experience
  • Intermediate Revit skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with end-to-end ownership of major project deliverables
  • Experience in Grocery environment
  • Architectural or Interior Design FF&E background.
  • Experience utilizing Adobe Suite, Bluebeam, Enscape, SketchUp, SmartSheet
  • Knowledge of current sustainability trends and practices
  • Experience managing change though multiple projects in various phases of design
  • Experience with design development, construction documents, permitting and construction administration

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
