Pinterest is seeking a technical lead for the Notifications & Growth Platform to shape the multi-year roadmap and align architecture with engagement goals. The Notifications & Growth Platform org builds the systems that power user communication and product-led growth across Pinterest. Our platforms enable product teams to reach users with the right message at the right time across channels (push, email, in-app, etc.) safely and at scale.

This role is the technical lead for the org: setting strategy, raising the engineering bar, and ensuring our platforms are secure, reliable, and easy for partner teams to adopt.

What you'll do

• Shape the technical vision and multi-year roadmap for the Notifications & Growth Platform org, aligning architecture and execution plans to Pinterest's engagement and retention goals.
• Lead cross-functional delivery of end-to-end solutions by partnering with Product, Data Science, Design, and engineering teams to ship notifications, in-app growth experiences, and internationalized (i18n) experiences for global markets.
• Make durable architectural decisions that improve delivery quality, reliability, and scalability of Pinterest's notifications and growth systems (e.g., orchestration, targeting hooks, scheduling, and multi-channel delivery).
• Define success metrics and operating cadence (e.g., engagement lift, delivery success, latency, reliability, cost, adoption) and drive measurable improvements aligned to org OKRs.
• Use AI to accelerate your work across exploration, drafting, analysis, and synthesis-while maintaining strong judgment, rigorous validation, and accountability for outcomes.

What we're looking for

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including meaningful time as a Staff, Senior Staff, or equivalent-level IC building and operating complex production systems.
• AI expectations:
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI to improve speed and quality in your day-to-day workflow for relevant outputs.
  • Strong track record of critical evaluation and verification of AI-assisted work (e.g., testing, source-checking, data validation, peer review).
  • High integrity and ownership: you protect sensitive data, avoid over-reliance on AI, and remain accountable for final decisions and deliverables.
  • Example: "Demonstrated experience using AI to accelerate customer/data analysis, with a clear approach to validating accuracy and quality."
• Proven technical leadership: driving architecture across multiple services/teams and delivering org-critical initiatives.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Notifications and growth platform experience is a strong plus.
• Able to dive into data and identify opportunities to drive user growth is a strong plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.

In-Office Requirement Statement

We recognize that the ideal environment for work is situational and may differ across departments. What this looks like day-to-day can vary based on the needs of each organization or role. This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times every 6-months and therefore can be situated anywhere in the country.
