Job summary

Blue Yonder is seeking a Sr. Staff Software Engineer (Java Architect) in Dallas, TX with hybrid in-office requirements and no remote work.

The role focuses on designing and developing scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, WebFlux, and reactive programming, while leading with hands-on code reviews. Ideal candidates have 12+ years in software development, strong microservices and cloud experience on Azure, and expertise in Kafka, RESTful APIs, and database systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 12+ years of software development experience with Java and microservices architecture.
• Strong experience in Reactive Programming using Spring WebFlux, Project Reactor, or Quarkus.
• Proven expertise with Apache Kafka for scalable event-driven applications.
• Expertise in Microsoft Azure cloud services, including deploying microservices and managing infra.
• Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, relational and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with containerization/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect and develop backend services using Java, Spring Boot, WebFlux, and reactive principles.
• Leverage Azure services for building, deploying, and scaling applications (AKS, Terraform, Helm, GitHub Actions).
• Design SaaS solutions focusing on multi-tenancy, scalability, and low latency.
• Build distributed event-driven systems using Kafka for real-time processing.
• Provide hands-on leadership, code reviews, and enforce high software quality, performance, and security.
