Job summary

Constellation, a leading energy company, seeks a Senior Nuclear Engineer to perform advanced fuels-related problem solving in support of the Clean Energy Center. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 10 years of nuclear experience or related engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership experience (e.g. duty team, inspection lead).
  • Maintain access requirements and pass medical exams as applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced nuclear engineering and technical tasks in support of CECs.
  • Provide in-depth analyses and independent research for regulatory/technical projects.
  • Offer technical expertise to develop, manage, and implement nuclear engineering activities ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate design criteria, plans and specifications with proper configuration management.
  • Identify and resolve equipment and system problems through expert consultation.
  • Manage engineering issues and task leadership.
  • Propose concepts to improve performance, reduce costs, or adapt to regulatory changes.
  • Support CEC design modifications, testing and problem solving.
  • Ensure engineering outputs meet safety analyses and industry codes.

Expected salary range of $151,200 to $168,000, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401(k).

Primary Purpose Of Position

Performs advanced fuels related problem solving in support of Clean Energy Center (CEC) operations. Responsible for technical decisions. Possesses superior knowledge in functional discipline and its practical application and regulations. Functions with recognized industry-level of expertise in a technical area.

Primary Duties And Accountabilities
  • Perform advanced nuclear engineering and technical tasks in support of CECs
  • Perform independent research, reviews, studies and analyses in support of regulatory/technical projects and programs.
  • Provides in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage, and implement nuclear engineering activities related to CEC safety, reliability, maintainability, and availability ensuring compliance to customer's needs, regulatory requirements, and corporate policies.
  • Accountable for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work ensuring proper configuration management and assuring that standard design criteria, practices and codes are used in preparation of plans and specifications.
  • Provide technical expertise and consultation through direct involvement to identify and resolve equipment and system problems.
  • Provides initial or complete task management of engineering issues.
  • Recommend new concepts and techniques to improve performance, simplify operations, reduce costs or comply with changes in codes or regulations.
  • Supports CEC design modifications, testing and problem solving, as necessary.
  • Assure all engineering products prepared or overseen are in accordance with applicable safety analyses, industry codes, and all regulatory requirements.
  • Develop, implement and coordinate functional supervisory activities including, but not limited to, personnel, budgetary accountabilities and planning goals with respect to Nuclear Fuels personnel.
  • All other job assignments and/or duties pursuant to company policy or as directed by management to include but not limited to: (Emergency Response duties and/or coverage, Department duty coverage and/or call out, and positions outside of department in support of outage activities etc.)
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (chemical, civil/structural, electrical, industrial, mechanical or nuclear) with 10 years of nuclear experience or related engineering experience
  • Demonstrated technical leadership experience (e.g. duty team, inspection lead, etc.)
  • Maintain minimum access requirement or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineering Registration, advanced technical degree or Coursework
  • Qualified Nuclear Engineer (QNE) Qualification or SRO Certification, desired
