Job summary

Vantor is seeking a Senior Staff DevOps Engineer with Site Reliability Engineering experience to support the build, deployment, reliability, and operations of the Vantor Hub software suite. This hybrid role requires three days on-site in Westminster, CO, with our Platform Infrastructure team working on a unified platform powering customer applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related engineering field.
• 8+ years in DevOps, Platform/SRE, or cloud operations with proven production ownership.
• Experience operating production environments in cloud-based settings.
• Strong SRE skills: SLIs, SLOs, incident response, post-incident reviews, reliability metrics, and automation.
• Hands-on AWS experience with production workloads in multi-account setups.
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Scripting: Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Strong networking knowledge.
• Effective communication and collaboration.
• US citizenship and ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.
• Preferred: HA systems, DR, BC planning; blue/green/canary deployments; automated rollback.
• Preferred: Observability/incident tools: Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, ELK, PagerDuty.
• Preferred: Secure cloud operations with least-privilege IAM, secrets, audit-ready infra.

Responsibilities

• Lead reliability engineering for Vantor Hub and infra services.
• Design, implement, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines.
• Build and run cloud infrastructure automation with Terraform, CloudFormation, Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS services.
• Troubleshoot complex issues across infra, deployments, networking, performance, and reliability.
• Improve availability, scalability, maintainability, security, and ops readiness.
• Design and operate highly available, observable, secure infra across AWS environments.
• Partner with engineering to improve deployment safety, observability, and production readiness.
• Participate in on-call rotation for production reliability.
• Use AI development tools to accelerate design, testing, docs, and workflows while preserving quality.
• Help define shared engineering standards for responsible AI-assisted development.

Must have:

• We require a bachelors degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, another related engineering discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• We need 8+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or cloud operations, with proven ownership of production systems.
• We expect demonstrated experience operating and improving production environments in cloud-based settings.
• We look for strong Site Reliability Engineering expertise, including SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, incident response, post-incident reviews, reliability metrics, and automation focused on reliability.
• We require strong hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services, including production workloads in multi-account AWS environments.
• We need strong proficiency with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• We require solid experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• We expect proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• We need a strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
• We look for the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with teammates and cross-functional colleagues.
• We require U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.
• Preferred qualifications include experience with high-availability systems, database replication, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
• Preferred qualifications include experience with low-downtime or zero-downtime release strategies such as blue/green, canary, rolling deployments, feature flags, and automated rollback.
• Preferred qualifications include experience with observability and incident management tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, ELK, or PagerDuty.
• Preferred qualifications include experience with secure cloud operations, least-privilege IAM, secrets management, vulnerability remediation, and audit-ready infrastructure.

• We design, implement, and maintain scalable CI/CD pipelines for software and infrastructure delivery.
• We build, run, and improve cloud infrastructure automation using Terraform, CloudFormation, Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS-native services.
• We troubleshoot complex issues across infrastructure, deployments, networking, performance, reliability, and production operations.
• We strengthen service availability, scalability, maintainability, reliability, security, and overall operational readiness.
• We design and operate highly available, resilient, observable, and secure infrastructure across commercial and government AWS environments.
• We partner with engineering teams to improve deployment safety, rollback capabilities, observability, production readiness, and operational support.
• We participate in an on-call rotation to support production reliability and incident response.
• We use AI development tools to accelerate design, implementation, testing, documentation, and operational workflows while preserving quality, reliability, and security.
• We help define shared engineering standards for responsible AI-assisted development, including validation, documentation, and review practices.
