Job summary

Renesas Electronics seeks an experienced power management IC design leader to drive system strategy and production‑ready CMOS power blocks. You will guide complex designs, supervise peers, and collaborate with Applications Engineers to ensure performance, area, and timing targets are met.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, DFT/verification support, and customer-facing engagement in a fast-paced, multinational environment.

Qualifications

  • 8–15 years of relevant experience in power management/IC design.
  • Advanced training and capability to work on complex technical projects.
  • Ability to select appropriate methods and evaluation criteria to maximize results.
  • Ability to solve complex issues creatively and effectively.
  • Ability to lead significant projects and mentor junior team members.
  • Cross‑cultural awareness and sensitivity.

  • Excellent verbal and written English.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret requirement specifications to guide system and design strategy for power management products.
  • Provide technical leadership for major blocks from design to production, supervising CMOS power management circuits.
  • Take ownership of complex block design and review work as needed.
  • Lead feasibility studies and lab evaluation in collaboration with Applications Engineers.
  • Produce high-quality documentation for IP blocks and advance design methodologies.
  • Support DFT strategy and implementation.
  • Coordinate with test teams on test development and verification planning.
  • Coach and mentor less experienced team members.
  • Drive personal development with team support.
  • Maintain customer-facing relationships as part of project teams.
  • Support RFQ processes when required.
  • Handle ad hoc tasks as requested by management.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Interpret requirement specifications to achieve system and design strategy for power management products.
  • Technical leadership for major blocks, ensuring designs are successfully guided into production—design, simulation and layout supervision of CMOS power management circuits meeting performance, area, power and timescale constraints.
  • Take ownership for complex block design, delegating tasks where appropriate and reviewing design work where necessary.
  • Feasibility study of new circuits, ensuring design meets specification—lead lab evaluation in collaboration with Applications Engineers.
  • Produce high‑quality documentation for own IP blocks—lead innovation of design and methodologies to increase power management capabilities.
  • Support DFT strategy and implementation.
  • Partner with test team to ensure appropriate test development to ramp to production—top‑level simulation and verification planning and implementation.
  • Coach and mentor less experienced team members.
  • Take proactive approach to driving own development plan, utilizing team members and internal development opportunities.
  • Customer‑facing relationship as part of project team.
  • Support RFQ process where necessary.
  • Any ad hoc tasks as deemed reasonable by your manager.
Qualifications
  • Typically 8-15 years’ relevant experience.
  • Advanced training, study and experience allowing work on advanced complex technical projects.
  • Ability to select the most appropriate methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for maximizing results.
  • Ability to solve complex issues in creative, commercial and effective ways.
  • Able to lead and coordinate significant projects, programs and business initiatives with creativity and ingenuity.
