Job summary

Databricks is seeking Solutions Architects to lead the growth of the Databricks Unified Analytics Platform. You will work with customers, your team, the product group, and post-sale teams to identify use cases, design architectures, and guide implementations to deliver value.

You will build champions and become a trusted advisor, reporting to the Field Engineering Manager. This role requires citizenship for U.S. Public Sector work and willingness to travel within the region.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in customer-facing pre-sales, technical architecture, or consulting.
• Experience designing distributed data systems.
• Comfortable programming and debugging in Python and SQL.
• Experience supporting Public Sector clients.
• Built solutions with public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Data Engineering technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Kafka).
• Data Warehousing (SQL, OLTP/OLAP/DSS).
• Degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or Operations Research is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the sales team to help customers understand how Databricks can help solve business problems.
• Provide technical leadership for customers to evaluate and adopt Databricks.
• Consult on big data architecture, implement proofs of concept, and validate integrations with cloud services and 3rd party apps.
• Build and present reference architectures, how-tos, and demo applications for customers.
• Promote Databricks open‑source projects across developer communities through meetups, conferences, and webinars.
• Travel to customers in your region.

What We Look For

Pay Range Transparency

Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents the expected salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job‑related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks anticipates utilizing the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
