Job summary

Graystone Group is seeking a Senior Software Engineer who is truly AI-native in how they build software, with an agentic-first approach. You will work on an AI-driven real estate investment platform, building and shipping features from concept to production in a small team.

You'll own architecture, partner with leadership, and explore cutting-edge AI technologies and tooling while contributing to scalable backend services on AWS and modern front-end stack (React, TypeScript). Hybrid in Reston.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale a modern real estate investment platform that uses AI to connect buyers, sellers, and investment opportunities.
• Leverage AI coding agents and agentic development workflows as a core part of your daily engineering process.
• Develop full-stack applications using React, Node.js, and TypeScript.
• Architect and implement scalable backend services, APIs, and integrations within AWS.
• Work with PostgreSQL, MySQL and modern data architectures to support a data-intensive marketplace.
• Help modernize existing applications and migrate legacy PHP functionality into a modern technology stack.
• Contribute to AI-powered automation, intelligent matching systems, and autonomous workflows across the platform.
• Collaborate directly with engineering leadership to make architectural decisions and establish development best practices.

-Compensation: $150,000–$275,000 Base Salary +Equity + Bonus

We are searching for a Senior Software Engineer who is truly AI-native in how they build software.

This isn't a traditional engineering role where AI is simply another tool in the development process. The engineering organization is embracing an agentic-first approach, leveraging autonomous AI agents, custom development tooling, and modern software engineering practices to build and ship products faster.

You’ll join a small, highly capable engineering team where your contributions will directly influence the product, architecture, and technical direction of the company.

What We're Looking For

• You actively use AI agents to accelerate and improve software development.
• You have hands-on experience with agentic coding tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or comparable platforms.
• You understand how to structure, orchestrate, and validate AI-generated code rather than simply accepting its output.
• You're constantly exploring new ways to incorporate AI into your engineering workflows.
• You believe the future of software development will be fundamentally different because of AI, and you're already building that way.
• Significant professional experience designing and building production-grade software applications.
• Strong proficiency with TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
• Experience building and scaling cloud-native applications on AWS.
• Hands-on experience with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, APIs, performance, and security.
• Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions in a fast-moving environment.
