STATE STREET CORPORATION seeks a Senior Software Engineer to contribute to Alpha Data Platform modules, using Java, Spring Boot, and React within an Agile team. You will analyze, design, test, and debug software enhancements, collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Managers, and help drive reliable, scalable solutions for financial clients.

You will participate in code reviews, write unit and automated tests, perform manual testing when needed, and document architecture and APIs.

Qualifications

  • 4–8 years of software development experience, FinTech preferred.
  • Experience with Java & Spring Boot; front-end React; cloud-native services (Azure a bonus).
  • Kafka and Snowflake experience; Agile development methodology.

Job description

Summary

Contribute to the enhancement and maintenance of one or more Alpha Data Platform modules or components as a senior member of an agile scrum team. Provide engineering troubleshooting assistance to customer support teams and other development teams within Charles River.

Responsibilities

Work under minimal supervision to analyze, design, develop, test, and debug small to medium software enhancements and solutions within Charles River’s business and technical problem domains including modifications to core frameworks and other primary facilities critical to system operation. Collaborate with Business Analysts and Product Managers to turn business requirements of moderate complexity into working and sustainable software Contribute as a Sr. Individual Contributor within a team of top engineers using Agile methodology. Participate in the design of product architecture within the team’s scope of responsibility pertaining to new development. Direct problem solving for projects or major phases of projects to resolve software technical issues. Develop, test, debug, and implement software programs, applications and projects using Java, JavaScript (React), SQL or other related software engineering languages as well as keeping abreast of emerging technologies impactful to CRDs business. Identify ways of improving development test methodologies contribute to and related test methodology frameworks. Provide thoughtful insight and suggestions in code reviews Write unit and automation tests to ensure a high-quality product Conduct manual tests (if necessary) to ensure a high-quality product Provide troubleshooting on large, mission-critical client implementations. Contribute to written design and API documentation, and participate in customer documentation process Actively participate in the agile software development process by adhering to the CRD scrum methodology including attending all daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives Participate in cross-team group activities to complete assignments Very good written and verbal communication skills

Qualifications

B.S. degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, and Physics or other technical course of study required. MS degree strongly preferred.

Experience

4-8 years of experience in development - preferably in FinTech (financial markets). Experience with developing applications/microservices using Java & Spring Boot Experience in front-end web development, ideally using React Experience in the development of cloud-native services (Azure experience a bonus) Knowledge of SQL and experience with RBDMS. Able to contribute to design specs with some assistance from senior staff Experience with Kafka & Snowflake will be a strong asset. A minimum of 3 years working with an Agile development methodology strongly desired

Salary

Salary Range: $90,000 - $157,500 Annual The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
