Job summary

Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. seeks passionate software engineers to design and implement scalable cloud platforms for Aurora Serverless. You’ll work with senior engineers to build APIs and workflows for highly available, fast databases in the cloud.

You will mentor peers, contribute to architecture decisions, and own components from design to production. This is a hands-on, collaborative role at the ground floor of a fast-growing AWS service.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one language.
• 5+ years leading design/architecture of new and existing systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
• 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.

We are looking for passionate and curious engineers to innovate with us on behalf of our customers. In this role, you will work with our senior engineers to design and implement systems that orchestrate thousands of databases. You will build a foundational platform consisting of web service APIs and workflows which make Aurora highly available, scalable, reliable and fast. This is a unique and rare opportunity to get in on the ground floor within a fast-growing AWS service, have an impact on the product direction and the shape of the database technology. Key job responsibilities

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
