Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices in San Jose, CA seeks a dynamic software engineer to join our team. You will help deliver high‑quality firmware, drivers and tooling for AMD‑Xilinx SOCs and boards, including bring‑up, initialization, power management and platform integration.

You will validate new features, participate in a high‑performing feature team, and collaborate with multiple groups to design scalable architectures while upholding safety, security and quality practices.

Qualifications

• Experience with C/C++ in production-grade software.
• Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
• Familiarity with embedded systems and OS concepts.
• Proficiency in Linux and debugging tools.

Responsibilities

• Validate new SW features before releasing them to customers
• Contribute to a high-functioning feature team
• Software Development: Develop Bare Metal firmware, drivers or tools/apps for bring-up, initialization, platform & power management of AMD-Xilinx SOCs and Boards.
• Safety & Security: Responsible for all the phases of functional-safety (FuSa) artifacts & security best practices.
• Collaborate closely with multiple teams to deliver key planning solutions and the technology to support them
• Help contribute to the design and implementation of future architecture for a highly scalable, durable, and innovative system
• Work very closely with dev teams and Project Managers to drive results
• Continuous learning: Willingness to learn broadly on the job.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Hands‑on experience in C, C++
• Understanding of object‑oriented‑design principles
• Understanding of Software Engineering principles, Data structure, algorithms, Computer Architecture, Embedded systems, Operating Systems concepts and multithread programming
• Familiarity with Linux and modern software tools and techniques for development

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer/Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical discipline
