Job summary

Transaction Network Services (TNS) is seeking a Senior Database Engineering Lead with deep expertise in Oracle databases and the AWS data ecosystem. The role combines hands-on database work with people leadership to drive cloud-enabled data platforms across hybrid environments.

• Strong expertise with AWS data services and SQL/PLSQL optimization.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of database development engineers and contribute hands-on to complex solutions.
• Design, implement, and maintain Oracle databases and AWS-native data services (RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift).
• Lead data migration and modernization from on-premises to AWS.
• Develop and optimize data models for OLTP and OLAP workloads.
• Implement high availability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies (RMAN, Data Guard, AWS Backup).
• Drive performance tuning, capacity planning, scalability, and security hardening of data platforms.
• Mentor and manage performance, enforce coding standards, and act as a hands-on expert for complex issues.
• Plan, prioritize, and execute projects aligned with product roadmaps.
• Collaborate with Architecture, Engineering, QA, DevOps, and Operations to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data infrastructure using CloudWatch, Performance Insights, etc.
• Participate in production support, incident response, root-cause analysis, and remediation.

Responsibilities

About the Role: We are seeking a Senior Database Engineering Lead with deep expertise in Oracle databases and the AWS data ecosystem, as well as management or team lead experience, who thrives as both a hands‑on database expert and a people leader. This role is central to our cloud transformation initiatives and will lead the design, development, and optimization of scalable, secure, and high performance data solutions across hybrid environments.

You’ll work closely with Cloud Architects, Engineering, DevOps, and Application teams to modernize legacy systems, streamline data workflows, and enable data‑driven decision‑making across the organization.

What You’ll Do

• Lead a team of database development engineers and serve as a hands‑on contributor to deliver complex solutions and projects
• Design, implement, and maintain Oracle databases and AWS‑native data services (e.g., RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift),
• Lead data migration and modernization efforts from on‑premises to AWS
• Develop and optimize data models for transactional (OLTP) and analytical (OLAP) workloads
• Implement high availability, disaster recovery, and backup strategies using RMAN, Data Guard, and AWS Backup
• Drive performance tuning, capacity planning, scalability, and security hardening of data platforms
• Mentor, manage performance, ensure coding standards, and act as a hands‑on technical expert for complex issues
• Plan, prioritize, and execute projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with product roadmaps
• Collaborate with Architecture, Engineering, QA, DevOps, and Operations teams to deliver integrated, end‑to‑end solutions.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data infrastructure using CloudWatch, Performance Insights, and other observability tools
• Manage and participate in production support, incident response, root‑cause analysis, and long‑term problem remediation.

What You Bring

• 12 - 15+ years of experience in Oracle and other RDBMS technologies
• Demonstrated experience performing hands‑on database development and administration while leading engineering teams
• Strong hands‑on experience with AWS data services: RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift, Glue, and S3
• Proven success delivering complex database initiatives in large‑scale, enterprise environments
• Proven success in data migration projects using AWS DMS, Schema Conversion Tool, or custom automation
• Expertise in SQL/PLSQL, query optimization, and indexing strategies
