Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Sr. Site Manager to provide strategic leadership and hands-on oversight of electromechanical fabrication, assembly, delivery, installation, commissioning, and maintenance across multiple sites and shop operations.

You will lead field crews, coordinate with customers and contractors, and ensure safety, on-time delivery, and budget adherence. The role requires extensive travel (up to 90%), strong leadership in field environments, and a proven track record in coordinating

Responsibilities

• Lead shop and multi-site field operations involving fabrication, assembly, delivery, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electromechanical equipment.
• Coordinate equipment installation and commissioning across multiple job sites per specs and schedules.
• Plan staffing, resources, schedules, budgets, and milestones to meet safety, schedule, and budget goals.
• Set up and manage shop, warehouse, and field offices and daily operations.
• Supervise and mentor crews, including union laborers, contractors, and internal engineers.
• Direct and coordinate crews (2–6 personnel) to achieve project objectives.
• Oversee safety, quality assurance, and compliance with drawings and specs.
• Review installation procedures, tolerances, fit-up and alignment; ensure proper integration.
• Identify and troubleshoot field issues with engineering teams and provide hands-on support.
• Serve as primary field contact for owners, customers, contractors, vendors, and unions.
• Maintain site deliveries, inventory, shipping/receiving, and project documentation.
• Communicate project status and cost-related matters to stakeholders and leadership.
• Lead safety programs and enforce OSHA and project-specific requirements.
• Attend meetings to support project execution and company interests.
• Drive continuous improvement in quality, efficiency, and cost control.
• Travel up to 90% to job sites with extended assignments.

Job Description

The Sr. Site Manager provides strategic leadership, technical expertise, and hands‑on oversight of multi‑site shop and field operations involving the fabrication, assembly, delivery, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electromechanical equipment. Serving as the company’s primary jobsite representative and field expert, this role oversees equipment installation, manages field crews, coordinates with customers and contractors, ensures safety, and acts as the eyes and ears of the engineering team in the field. The Sr. Site Manager directs project execution, resource allocation, scheduling, site administration, and quality assurance across multiple job sites and shop operations to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Lead shop and multi-site field operations involving the fabrication, assembly, delivery, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of electromechanical equipment.
• Lead equipment installation and commissioning activities across multiple job sites, ensuring alignment with project specifications and schedules.
• Plan and manage staffing, resources, schedules, budgets, and project milestones to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.
• Set up and manage shop, warehouse, and field offices, including establishing work schedules and overseeing day‑to‑day operations.
• Supervise, motivate, coach, and mentor employees, temporary workers, contracted labor, subcontractors, and field or warehouse crews.
• Manage and direct crews of 2–6 personnel, including union laborers, third‑party contractors, and internal engineers, to achieve project objectives.
• Coordinate daily site activities, address performance issues promptly, and remove personnel from the site when necessary to maintain safety and quality standards.
• Oversee fabrication and assembly processes to ensure workmanship, quality assurance, and compliance with drawings, specifications, instructions, and technical documentation.
• Review installation procedures and verify tolerances, fit‑up, and alignment requirements, ensuring equipment integrates properly with existing structures and systems.
• Identify and troubleshoot field issues in collaboration with engineering teams and provide hands‑on technical support as needed.
• Serve as the primary field contact and company representative for owners, customers, general contractors, steel erectors, iron workers, subcontractors, vendors, local unions, and other stakeholders.
• Represent the company professionally in meetings and jobsite interactions, communicating effectively with both field personnel and executive leadership.
• Manage job site deliveries, including material receiving, inventory, storage, packaging, and shipment of parts, tools, equipment, and components between company locations, vendors, subcontractors, and job sites.
• Maintain job site administration, including timesheets, daily reports, material receiving reports, electronic project documentation, and safety records.
• Communicate project status, field conditions, schedules, materials, and cost‑related matters clearly and regularly to stakeholders and corporate leadership.
• Act as the primary safety leader on site, monitoring conditions and enforcing OSHA and project‑specific safety requirements.
• Ensure crews work safely, coordinate safety expectations across multiple labor groups, and conduct or assist with regular safety meetings.
• Attend project, superintendent, assembly, and coordination meetings to represent company interests and support effective project execution.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, performance, installation and assembly processes, maintenance practices, and cost control.
• Travel extensively to job sites and work away from the home base for extended periods as needed, with travel requirements up to 90%.

Essential Skills

• Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and direct others, with proven experience managing people and complex projects.
• Strong field leadership experience in construction site environments with a high level of mechanical aptitude.
• Experience in construction engineering or related disciplines, including exposure to structural steel and complex construction activities.
• Customer‑facing experience with the ability to represent the company effectively to owners, clients, and project partners.
• Hands‑on experience working in environments involving cranes, forklifts, and other construction‑related equipment.
• Effective communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with management, employees, vendors, and customers.
• Working knowledge of software applications used for design, modeling, project scheduling, budgeting, and enterprise resource planning, including Excel, eDrawings, and ERP systems.
• Results‑oriented mindset with a proven ability to organize, plan, and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
• Sound judgment and creative problem‑solving skills applied to complex projects and business challenges.
• Demonstrated initiative, accuracy, and professionalism in producing high‑quality work.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively to job sites, including extended assignments away from the home base, up to 90% of the time.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior experience directing multi‑site operations on large‑scale, complex projects such as stadiums, entertainment venues, or other specialized structures.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• Certified Rigger credentials and related rigging experience.
• Forklift Safety Training and demonstrated ability to work safely around material handling equipment.
• NFPA 70E Arc Flash Training or similar electrical safety training.
• First Aid Training and a strong commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
• Demonstrated success leading continuous improvement initiatives and process or quality management programs.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Work Environment

This role is highly field-based, with up to 90% travel to job sites and extended assignments away from the home base. You will work across shops, warehouses, and active construction sites that involve the fabrication, assembly, and installation of electromechanical equipment and structural steel. The environment includes coordination with engineers, architects, construction managers, general contractors, unions, and various trades on complex, large‑scale projects such as stadiums, entertainment venues, aerospace facilities, observatories, and custom crane installations. Work hours may vary based on project schedules and site requirements, and conditions can include active construction zones, heavy equipment, cranes, forklifts, and elevated work areas. Job Type & Location

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.00 - $72.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
