Pharmaron in Woburn, MA seeks a Sr. Scientist I, Bioassay Development to lead development and validation of immunoassays and cell-based assays, guiding project teams and client collaborations.

  • BS in a scientific field with 4 to 6 years of relevant experience, MS with 2-4 years of relevant experience, or PhD with at least 2-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with immunoassays and cell based assay techniques is critical. Potency assay development experience preferred.
  • Flow Cytometry experience is a plus.
  • Strong experience with GLP and cGMP as well as assay development and validation is required.

Responsibilities

  • Leading Development and Validation of new assays including GxP assays.
  • Serving as Principal Investigator (PI) for multiple projects as assigned.
  • Contributing to study design, execution, and troubleshooting of projects both internally and in collaboration with clients.
  • Acting as Technical and administrative lead for studies, reviewing all documentation related to study execution.
  • Authoring and reviewing Protocols, Reports, Deviations, and Audit responses.
  • Mentoring and training scientists on techniques and assays.
  • Supervising up to three direct reports.
  • Performing a QC function to review data and reports to ensure the accuracy of all laboratory-related processes.
  • Maintaining regular communication with QAU, scientists, PIs, and other project staff as well as external clients.
  • Adhering to all laboratory standards as defined in each written SOP.

Job Overview

The Senior Scientist I will work as part of a team in a laboratory environment to complete client/Sponsor driven projects.

Key Responsibilities

What We're Looking For
  • BS in a scientific field with 4 to 6 years of relevant experience, MS with 2-4 years of relevant experience, or PhD with at least 2-3 years of relevant experience.

  • Flow Cytometry experience is a plus.

  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and work as part of a team to complete projects.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work without the supervision in a team environment. Will participate in client meetings.
  • Excellent computer skills are required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel (formulas, graphs and charts), and PowerPoint.
