Job summary

JMJ PHILLIP is seeking an experienced Sr. Safety Compliance Officer to oversee workplace safety programs and ensure regulatory compliance across operations in the Los Angeles area.

The role involves coordinating inspections, incident investigations, and training to foster a strong culture of safety. You will work with employees, supervisors, and leadership to implement initiatives and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Safety, or a related field preferred.
• Significant experience in workplace safety, compliance, or occupational health and safety.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and applicable safety standards.
• Experience conducting safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to develop and implement safety programs and corrective actions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities independently.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Sr. Safety Compliance Officer to oversee workplace safety programs, ensure regulatory compliance, identify potential hazards, and promote a strong culture of safety across operations. This role will work closely with employees, supervisors, and leadership to implement safety initiatives, conduct inspections, investigate incidents, and support continuous improvement.

Position Responsibilities

Safety Program Management

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive workplace safety programs and procedures.
• Monitor safety performance and recommend improvements to reduce workplace risks.
• Provide guidance to management and employees regarding safety requirements and best practices.

Compliance & Regulatory Oversight

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local safety regulations.
• Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and compliance documentation.
• Monitor regulatory changes and update safety policies and procedures as needed.

Inspections & Hazard Assessment

• Conduct regular workplace inspections and safety audits.
• Identify potential hazards and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Follow up on corrective measures to ensure timely resolution.

Incident Investigation

• Investigate workplace accidents, injuries, and safety incidents.
• Identify root causes and develop corrective and preventive actions.
• Maintain incident documentation and communicate findings to appropriate stakeholders.

Training & Safety Awareness

• Develop and deliver safety training for employees and supervisors.
• Promote safety awareness and encourage compliance with established procedures.
• Provide coaching and support to employees regarding safe work practices.

Prerequisites

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Safety, or a related field preferred.
• Significant experience in workplace safety, compliance, or occupational health and safety.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and applicable safety standards.
• Experience conducting safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to develop and implement safety programs and corrective actions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities independently.

Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
• Associate Safety Professional (ASP).
• OSHA safety certifications or specialized training.
• Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
• Other occupational safety or environmental compliance certifications.
