Job description

Job Responsibilities
  • Open to US, Canada, and UK only – no sponsorship available.
  • Heavy programming and data review for real‑world data analyses. Required experience with commercial databases such as Optum, HealthVerity, PharmMetrics, IQVIA, MarketScan, VA, Medicaid, Medicare.
  • Support protocol and SAP review for epidemiologists; ICD knowledge required.
  • Develop programs and support statistical programming for epidemiologists or clients, creating tables, listings, graphs, and derived datasets based on the statistical analysis plan.
  • Develop and maintain code for analysis datasets, tables, figures; evaluate programming processes and suggest productivity improvements.
  • Design, implement, and deliver processes, programs, and policies; may supervise two or fewer employees and direct lower‑level professionals.
  • Prepare data specifications and understand study protocols; review data and program outputs against protocol requirements, flag issues, and elevate when necessary.
  • Address messy data by identifying issues and proposing solutions.
  • Use ICD or other clinical terminology; understand follow‑up periods; have OMOP CDM knowledge and familiarity with AI/ML for large language models and workflow scaffolding.
  • Develop and validate programming specifications; maintain accurate and inspection‑ready documentation, testing, and verification documents.
  • Manage scheduling, time constraints, and multiple projects; set priorities, estimate timelines, and meet project deadlines.
  • Conduct and prepare for internal and sponsor meetings, provide input on documentation such as Statistical Analysis Plans and mock shells, and mentor junior programmers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned; minimal travel may be required.
Minimum Requirements
  • Data Experience: eHR; claims data – Optum, HealthVerity, IQVIA PharmMetrics; optional MarketScan, VA, Medicaid, Medicare.
  • Programming Languages: SAS or R, SQL required; proficiency in Python, SAS, or R also acceptable.
  • Programmatic cohort derivation, index date definition, and modeling/programming expertise including GLM, logistic regression, Cox models, propensity score matching, incidence computations.
  • Experience preparing data specifications, reviewing outputs against protocol, and addressing messy datasets.
  • Experience with OMOP Common Data Model and AI/ML modeling.
  • Knowledge of GitHub versioning ideal.
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate or master’s degree in biostatistics, mathematics, epidemiology, or related scientific field.
  • Extensive programming experience in SAS, R, Python, or other required software within a real‑world data environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in English.
Salary

$80,600.00 – $145,000.00
